Who you wished Man United faced (easiest on paper) in Europa League play-off?

If we can get our first choice 11 fit then I would want as hard a draw as possible. If we beat a top side at this stage it would be a real boost mentality wise for the rest of the competition. We should be out lay a marker down in this competition but our squad is so thin up top. Get Martial and Antony back and we will batter anymof those teams.

Sporting without a doubt. They can even tap up Ronnie whilst we're over there.

Easiest one would be Shakhtar or Salzburg. I want the latter. Personal feeling though is Ajax / Juventus.

I agree with this, would weirdly quite like a tough draw for the team. Win and it's morale boosting, lose and it should in theory be easy to shrug off plus we're out of Europa which isn't the end of the world in my honest opinion. All about the league this year, even if we could really do with any cup.

Give us the harder one is non sense, avoid all the hard teams until no longer possible that's the best way.

Hopefully we get Salzburg or Shaktar.

I just don't want Sevilla. Real sociedad match shows how we react when playing against a technically good physical side.

We can beat any team apart from maybe a Barca team that have bonded and have more confidence playing together.

we have a World Cup and fixture congestion, If united are gonna lose to Barcelona in the semi final why wouldn’t you want to play them now, if you win it’s a massive statement, if you lose it massively eases fixture congestion.

If you're out the cup this early its a massive hit for morale even if its against Barca or whoever. Keep advancing and we'll eventually face the best teams, I dont get the need to hurry it.

Hope we get the easiest Salzburg. Beat them with big margin 1st leg. Rest players for 2nd leg. We have league and other cups game coming thick and fast.

I think the statement thing is a nonsense. Barca v United in the Europa would look like two has beens grappling away *inserts that gif of the pensioners fighting*
No-one is going to be in awe of whoever emerges from that victorious.

Easiest is probably Leverkusen or Shaktar but lets be realistic with Ten Hag here you just know the draw will somehow be rigged the way that we will get Ajax.

Probability of draw base don my feelings
60% ajax
30% Barca
10% all the rest

I'd prefer either Ajax, Leverkusen or Shaktar.

Dont want Barca or Juve. They might have not done well in the UCL but plenty of quality there.

Oh we will get Barca. Watch this space.

I don't care much for Europa League this season but I would like to go through and have some decent games too, if for no other reason then I think it would be a good experience for the new team we are building. So with that said, I don't want Spanish teams because they almost always find a way to better English teams. I would take Juventus please. A big European name that we can take IMO.

The fixture congestion will be absolutely devastating for us.

We'd be lucky to finish 4th this year with such a crazy schedule.

We are potentially looking at a Friday-Monday-Thursday-Sunday schedule. After what will already be a gruelling WC for most of our lads.

I don't see how we can afford to be cheapasses in the january transfer market when we're about to have the most hectic schedule in the history of the premier league.

  • Ajax
  • Bayer Leverkusen
  • Barcelona
  • Sporting Lisbon
  • Red Bull Salzburg
  • Shakhtar Donetsk
  • Sevilla
  • Juventus
damn all tricky opponents

It doesn’t matter really. It’s our opportunity to knock out another front runner or bow out and keep fighting hard in the league and keep building. We are probably good enough to win this now with our new manager and signings so we should fear nobody

You'll get Top 4 so don't need to kill yourselves trying to win EL.
Shaktar are wide open to score against if you're bold.

Barcelona. After losing 4 games in a row against them, this would be our best chance to beat them

Without a striker, it doesn't matter who we face. It will be very tough for us.

We would probably be quite comfortable against any of them except Barcelona who are still quite good even now.

I would like Juventus because my brother in law supports them and thinks they are so much better than United, would be good to hammer them. Or Shakhtar as they would play their home leg in Warsaw which would be a great opportunity to see United right here in Poland.

How do you create a winning mentality by preferring top 4 over winning the Europa League?
Imagine winning this cup by eliminating barca, arsenal and juventus.

Salzburg, it should be relatively straightforward and I want to see sesko in action.

I agree, every trophy counts. Don't agree with the bolded though. This is like wanting to beat City, liverpool and chelsea to win the carabao cup. Most importantly these are all 2 legged ties. Our first team will be knackered.

Well it would give us all a feeling like they earned it. I sure hope they will be knackered, it is about time they give us something in return for our support after 9 bloody years!
