We should be favs against everyone except for Barca, I reckon. Teams like Ajax, Juve and Sevilla have all regressed in recent years. We’re hoping to play Shakhtar in my house.

I don't get this 'bring on the big boys' mentality. Not bothered if we fluke the easiest draw all the way - you don't get extra merit for beating big teams, and they would just be tougher games (possible extra time/penalties) to put more strain on the squad for the PL campaign.

Whoever the best team is, probably Barca. I take no joy in winning a mickey mouse trophy whilst beating all the cannon fodder in the competition, with a £1b+ team. If we're doing it, let's do it the hard route.

I understand the people wanting a strong opponent, there are benefits to it. If you have to lose against them, better do it early and save yourself the fixture congestion.

Barcelona please, or whoever is the best CL team that got unlucky. There'a chance we paper over cracks in the summer because we might do well this season so it's best we come up against the best so everyone is painfully aware how far behind we are.
