Who you wished Man United faced (easiest on paper) in Europa League play-off?

Ajax or Leverkusen would be fine but knowing our luck with cup draws, I'm certain we'll get one of the Spanish teams.
 
Give us Barca (or whoever the toughest is). Let's sink or swim. No point devoting time to the competition if we aren't capable of matching the toughest of the lot.

I like your thinking which is different from most people.

This can be applied to world cup too when certain teams purposely lose or draw to avoid strong teams in the knockout stage.

A lot of these teams are dogshite now.
 
Shakhtar for me, downside is the travel time though, you have to see the irony in De Jong wanting to stay at Barca as they are in the ECL and out at the first hurdle.
 
Usually I like the easiest draw but did it bring on Barca or Juve. Let’s have a heavyweight clash and prove just how much progress we are making. For what it’s worth we can beat any of those teams. Worst draw for me would be Sevilla.
 
Easiest one. Shakhtar or Salzburg. Let the big teams knock each other out.
 
Honestly my opinion changes if we buy someone attacking before the match is played. We need goals, especially against some of the sit back merchants we're likely to play.
 
If we could just, pretty please, NOT play a Spanish team again.
We have a good chance against any of these other teams.
 
Over two legs, I'd fancy our chances against any of them, injuries permitting. Seville piss me off a lot though, so don't really want them.

Yeah agreed. We might as well get a ‘big’ tie. EL is just such a slog, I think we have more chance finishing top four than winning the EL looking at how ropey Pool and Chelsea are this year.
 
I just dont want to play a spanish team anymore, they are disgusting timewaisting feckers.

Atletico ended fourth. From that group its Leverkusen instead.

As we’ve got a new manager and no striker the longer we wait to play against the better teams the more chance we will give ourselves of beating them

Hold your horses. We're good but no one can or should confidently say we're better than Barcelona right now. Juventus, Sevilla and Ajax are pretty decent too. Pretty sure we would've got dumped out of their UCL groups too.

Then lets face them and see. The thing is I would rather play teams not from Spain.
 
Salzburg please hopefully martial or a new striker can come in and improve us .
