Who replaces Ten Hag?

Whoever it is needs to be a big personality with the ability to motivate. Some tactics that stop us getting outplayed would be useful too.

Bascially the opposite of Ten Hag.

In what world is a team going to be successful with Lindelof at LB. Please, let me know.

Very unrealistic and will not happen, but I would love Zidane as ETHs replacement. Other than him, no clue. Maybe Nagelsmann? It's hard to imagine anyone succeeding here at this point.
Is that unrealistic?!

I can’t see him getting a bigger job unless it’s back to Madrid. With Ashworth in and a proper recruitment team at the club, United will offer as much a guarantee of success as any other could over the next 4-5 years

If United made him priority #1, I think he’d come

You don´t mess with family. Ten Hag should have listened to Nagelsmann´s dad.

Nagelsmann and Tuchel* are names that would make me excited. De Zerbi and Potter not really.

I can see you're continuing with the 'agenda driven' nonsense because I feel ten Hag should be doing better with what he has at his disposal.
Nah G. It's you rather trying to repeatedly pass off unreasonable thinking and lies as "honest takes". If you weren't being utterly disingenous with your reasons as to why you believe ETH should be doing better with our current resources. We wouldn't even be having this exchange because I'd have no grounds to have issues with your stance.

Not once did I say, nor did I expect us to dominate Fulham at home today.
You didn't. Correct. But you were rather comforatble impying it was a marvel Fulham dominated us at OT. Plus how you thoght their losses of key players "directly equated" to ours.....

Thus you are really no different from anyone who could make that absurd claim. All tied to arguing you "expected ETH to do better " with the resources we had today. Which I will forever insist is a straight up piss take. Rather than an argument that holds water.

You also mentioned that most pre-match comments mentioned how tough it was going to be, which I agree with. When was the last time we've made a game look pretty routine? ....
What does "routine" have to do with it? I dare you to find just 6 posts in the last 21 days of our fans in here looking with trepedition pre match to any upcoming game with the squad we had before today.

Not even a literal Ten Hag fanboi would have looked to this Fulham game today PRE match, with ANY optimism that we could walk away with a good performance let alone 3 points.

Frankly I have little problem with folks doubting ETH. I doubt him too! In my view He has no plan B in terms of style of play, doesn't adapt well to loss of key personnel and at times makes the most outragously absurd substitutions. Still I'd NEVER use today's game to buttress my argument with claims he could use our existing personnel better. Because it just wouldn't tally. Today's much pretty much went as expected.

It’s like he’s determined to get it wrong here, I just don’t understand it. Everything I observed and heard about ETH almost before we managed to bring him in, looked like it was starting to take shape in the earlier parts of last season, we needed more players capable of playing the way he wanted..but the signs were good and he dealt with players like no manager had since SAF…then he seemed to just throw it all out of the window in favour of remaining an aimless steaming pile of shite. Why?

I'd say at this point the lack of a great alternative doesn't matter. We are about to embark on a rebuild and eth obviously isn't the man, so we need a clean slate right away.

Why did Ten Hag get rid of every back up option we had in this position?

Wan Bissaka is injured. Malachia is injured.
I suspect you mean the highly average Reguillon who barely got a game here over Dalot out of position!

I'd like to see Nagelsmann. Not sure if it'll work but it's the kind of appointment that will make a statement.

He's both young, modern and has a bit of an ego. We also recently learned the Bayern hierarchy didn't rate EtH but rated this guy enough to give him the job in his early 30s.

Certainly better than Potter or someone like that.

Liv, Barca and Bayern are looking for new managers! I'm not seeing them being link to any of the detritus we are pushing forward! And that's also one of our issues, we end up scrapping the barrel for the worst candidate.

When I watch us play, I feel like the opponent makes the game look simple and we make it look difficult. We just don’t seem to value possession at all unless it is our defenders passing back and forth with our keeper.

Bayern have been linked with two of our former managers...

I have doubts about basically all the contenders. Alonso seems the best of all who could possibly be considered but I’m not optimistic he’d accept, given his Liverpool ties, and the 352 doesn’t scream ‘United DNA’. Nagelsmann and De Zerbi seem overrated and actually quite unlikeable. Inzaghi and Amorim both play 3 at the back. The latter would be very expensive given what Sporting paid to get him out of Braga.

If Ten Hag doesn’t sort it out, he has to go. But there’s no one obvious who can step in. I’d almost consider going for someone inexperienced like Arsenal did with Arteta, if the new powers that be are convinced this person has the talent, gravitas and mental strength.

Change is necessary. Nagelsmann, Flick, Inzaghi, Enrique, I'd take any of those. Good football with the CV to back it up. Maybe Tuchel as well. You also have some hipster options, like De Zerbi, Michel, Pioli, but I'd rather have someone from the former group at this point.

I don't believe for a second there's no one out there that would do better than what we are currently. Oh, just not Potter, please.

Fair play for showing the who should replace him mob in the fanbase there are options out there

This will probably never happen but we may need someone like Diego Simeone. The standards are on the floor.

At the point where I'd rather see Potter as interim and I don't rate Potter.

I think Potter would be a decent call, he's done well at all the clubs he's managed/coached, apart from Chelsea, and who knows what pressures were coming from above at Stamford Bridge.
He had lots of ego's to massage, with an extraordinary number of players to pick a team from. I wonder how training went with so many bodies to cope with.
Now we appear to be getting behind the scenes sorted, I think Potter could do a good job short term.

I can imagine Nagelsmann going to Liverpool and Tuchel to Newcastle if we're not quick enough.

The two games against Barcelona were the high point. That was really exciting and it genuinely looked like we were going somewhere. Then, somewhere after that game and around the time of the league cup final (a few games around that), we just never hit those heights again. It's been downhill ever since. Sometimes steadily, sometimes sharply, but still in that direction. I don't understand it either.

I’d love to ask him wtf !

We need a name, a big name.

This isn't one of those we must sign "insert best player name here" comments.

My reasoning is that we need someone with a name bigger than our players. I don't think Zidane is necessarily the best coach out there. But we need him and not whoever IS the best coach

Likes of De Zerbi are good but our players will not "bow" down to him. They are arrogant.

A big name with cojones is needed to bend their will. Someone who won't accept Rashford not trying and having a stroll. Someone who can say "hey lad buck up your fecking ideas" and has a name that can't be messed with.

Yeah INEOS need to realise we simply have to appoint a manager that can manage egos. Basically someone who has the standing as a player or manager to immediately command respect. Unfortunately the list of those is looking to be very small

There’s going to be a lot of change at the club in the next few years, we will probably move towards a younger team too. Someone like Ancelotti with his experience would be really good working with a group of young players being brought in like he has with Vini, Camavinga, Rodrygo, Belligham, Valverde, etc. He gets on with everyone and the players will respect him

Yeah, perplexing. We are wholly reliant upon Martinez being fit and we are blunt up front without Hojlund, but he still has made some strange decisions this season most notably with the midfield and now with Lindelof at left back. There is no plan B and plan A has not been available 90% of the season.
