Wait until the regime change happens ( hopefully sometime this century) and then see if we can get Simeone in
Think I might give up if Simeone comes in.

I can't see Zidane coming anywhere near us at the mo. Nagelsmann and Di Zerbi would feel to me like another flavour of the month hire. Please God not Conte or potter. Would rather see McKenna than Carrick but realistically it's probably too early for either.Cheeky look at the odds:
Zidane 4/1
Nagelsmann 5/1
Di Zerbi 15/2
Potter 10/1
Carrick 12/1
Conte 16/1
Is it that crazy a notion? If ten Hag was sacked tomorrow, what Top Tier manager would realistically replace him…?
Not this shit again
We'll NEVER win anything whilst we are infested by the glazers. Changing managers only provides cover and more time for those corrupt, inept parasites. Time for fans to drop tools and strike the club in whatever feeble chance we have to chase them out. They will NEVER leave until they've squeezed every last drop of blood from the club. Walk away.
Yeah, weird but as a short term option someone like Bielsa or Simeone (unrealistic of course) would be ideal to shake our useless squad up a little.Bielsa would be wonderful as a short-term option, honestly. Double murder-ball, sort the chancers from those who at least merit being retained as squad options.
He's a coach first and foremost, and one committed fully to exactly what we're lacking in terms of off the ball movement, quick interplay, consistent pressing across the team etc. Bielsa and a new , competent DOF being eased in whilst we recruit for a longer-term manager would be potentially season-saving in terms of a top-4 push, bringing in young players and raising their top-flight decision-making levels as well as core fitness
De Zerbi makes the most sense but would have to be end of the season. Is Ange settled in London yet?
You’re allowed complete control of the footballing side of the club, a transfer budget of £200m a season, fans willing to give you ‘time’ because of the clubs owners, sign whatever players you want with zero reasoning except “I know him”. What isn’t there to love about being the United manager? You think people are going to turn it down because the owners aren’t interested in what you’re doing? You laugh but the top managers will be laughing at our club sale limbo land.
He'll be hounded out for his style of footballSimone would be interesting but can he speak english - which also applies to Zidane.
So we should give him even more time to set the club back even further and waste even more money on players that another manager will have to replace. That’s a sound way to run the club. If anything we are where we are because we always take way too long to replace coaches. We must be the only club in the world whose fan base cultivates this idea that any, literally any manager will come good if they are given enough time. It’s bonkers.

Yep. City went through 5 managers in 10 years before they got to PepRinse and repeat.
De Zerbi doesn't make any sense whatsoever, it's such a shallow suggestion, his career is getting relegated and fired in Italy before Brighton. There's absolutely nothing to suggest he can handle the extreme pressure, and the wider responsibilities that some with the United role.
I still think only a manager like Ancelotti or maybe Zidane could have success at the club currently.
What does he have to do, challenge City for the title with Brighton?Agreed 100%. As i said in this thread or another one, if Brighton finish 8th and 27 points off the winners, its considered a good season. At United its a terrible season. We just dont know what De Zerbi is like at a massive club whose ambitions are to win Premier Leagues. He could be good - we just dont know. We all thought Ten hag was the messiah given his football at Ajax.

got schooled by japan twice with much better team than United. In a friendly too, got sacked after that which is hilariousWhat about Hansi Flick? Forgot about him.
I think the structure of the club is fecked like everyone else has said. Maybe wishful thinking but I'd like to see what Carrick could do. One of the most tactically astute players I've seen playing the game so you'd hope that might translate. He is obviously short on experience though at this level.

How would you handle the situation? How much time should ETH be given? Faulty logic was @Hugh Jass comparing our expectations with Brighton and you 'fully agreeing' with itThis is faulty logic, and you surely know that. The question is what makes him qualified for the job? Can you point to anything he's won, or achievements that demonstrate an ability to handle the pressure he'd be under here, or any environments he's been successful in that have a similarly dysfunctional setup above him that we do?

We need an elite coach. Its not good enough for Manchester United to make top four - we have to be winning Premier leagues. So how many elite coaches are available?
