Who replaces Ten Hag?

Maybe the Olympiacos coach deserves a shout. Won back-to-back European competitions with Sevilla (Europa League) and Olympiakos (Conference League).

He has a dreadful domestic record (hence why he was sacked by Sevilla) and is around the same age as Ancelotti. If you want a cup specialist you're better off with Tuchel or better yet, keep Ten Hag.

Can't help thinking, if there were a manager who had known success with his previous club and had achieved three cup final appearances in his two years in charge of his Premier League club, and won two of those cups, he would be high up on our list of potential replacements.

- Galatasaray hadn't won a game on English soil in 117 years of existing, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United had never lost the opening 2 CL group games, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United had never conceded 7 goals in the opening 2 CL group games, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United had never conceded 3+ goals in back to back CL games, until Erik Ten Hag

- Galatasaray hadn't scored in or won an away goal in the CL since 2015, 3 in one game as soon as they meet Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United hadn't lost 4 of the opening 7 games in PL history, until Erik Ten Hag

- Manchester United haven't had as few as 9 points from the opening 7 games since 1989, until Erik Ten Hag

- Manchester United hadn't conceded 4 goals in a CL group game in 28 years, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United hadn't conceded 3+ goals in 3 consecutive games since 1978, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United had never lost at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United hadn't lost the opening two away games since 1973-74, until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United hadn't conceded more than one goal in 4 consecutive league games since 1979, Until Erik Ten Hag.

- Manchester United had never conceded 2 goals in the opening 4 minutes of a PL game at Old Trafford, Until Erik Ten Hag

- Manchester United had never conceded 23 shots in one game at Old Trafford in PL history, Until Erik Ten Hag

- Brighton had never won twice in a row at Old Trafford, until Erik Ten Hag

I think we should get someone of this pedigree.....

Can't help but think that with how we are turning up our noses at a CL winner who finished 3rd we would be calling a manager who finished 8th radioactive.

Dunno mate, I don't think DiMateo would want to join us though...

Unai Emery would be my pick.

He will bring discipline, and stabilise the team while challenging for cups.

Under him we would comfortably be in the top 3, play good football and bring back some sort standard.

Kinda like he did for Arsenal, right?

That was his first season in the EPL, and seeing the team he took over he did good.

He has improved since then, the way Villa are playing now and making top 4 isn’t by luck.

Which is why they gave him a new 5 year contract last week.

Sérgio Conceição

Is this guy an option? Free from 30 June snd has a great record at Porto
Not sure about his management but would love to see it happen just to watch him fist fight Arteta and Slot when things aren't going well

- Erik ten Hag is the only manager in United's history to win a major honour in each of his first two seasons at the club

Think it will be Pochettino. He suits the players we have

The more I think about it, the more it makes by far the most sense, even though I think very highly of Tuchel.

He's a top manager that has had teams play good football in the Premier League, achieving a consistency that led to multiple title challenges and good goal differences. His teams have progressed far in Europe and are some of the few teams that have gone toe to toe with City under Pep. He has consistently shown his ability to manage young players and has been great at managing tighter budgets. As a personality, he has the personality the club would want. He is quite media friendly in the way Ole was, but has also been able to manage big players.

Tactically, he fits us the most. He would be able to get a lot out of Mount and Bruno, given how he managed to get Alli and Eriksen in the same side whilst being able to control games. Rashford would benefit from his ability to have the team create space behind the opposition. I think he would be able to effectively play a brand of football that uses transitions well, and unlike Spurs, he will have more money and more attraction to offer players, hence, eventually he would work with better players. He's a manager who is unlikely to have friction with the football operations team, whilst still able to play good football.

Tuchel would be my first pick, but I definitely think Pochettino is the guy we are actually after.

Yep pretty much. Although I feel there’s a chance they could still go for Tuchel who is more possession based because the people INEOS appointed identify with that style more

Of the big names being floated, none would be a clear upgrade on ETH as far as I can see.

Too much smoke now. Think Ten Hag's a goner at this point.
The source is hit and miss for Barca if I'm not mistaken. It's Madrid outlet isn't it?

I think he's a goner but I also think Xavi snaps us up if we offered him a deal.

Tuchel is the one who could take the pressure. Feel sure he’d have the respect of the players.

Easily the best available.

I agree if we get a new manager we should probably get Tuchel. Hel get us back to basics and hel get immediate results. The downside is he implodes after 2 years but we may be in a much better place from a squad building standpoint to just continue with another coach.

He has no ties to us, and we're a mess. He definitely does not snap us up.

Talking to oppo fans I know (mostly London clubs) Tuchel is the one they don’t want at Utd.

2 year contract would seem sensible.

Ten Hag was also one they didn't want at United too.

He just got a fat new contract like a week or 2 ago
