When will we stop being crap?

When we stop overpaying shit players and tad in their back every time they are upset.

When the ownership spends some money on better players unfortunately, it could be awhile longer.

Need better players. This season will be up and down. Amorim needs to be able to bring in his own players. It's only fair to judge him once he can bring in his players.

Tbf I'd happily go to the pre-ole era. We were bad, but we weren't the joke that we became under Ole and ETH. The damage the two if them did to the clubs standing might be irreversible.

When the manager has a chance to get rid of the below par footballers in the squad and brings in players suitable for his system. This is the worst group of footballers I’ve seen in my lifetime, and I’m 42

It's all about recruitment.

If we assume we've hired the correct CEO, sporting director etc, and we now have the right coach in Amorim, then next we obviously need to recruit the right players.

So many of the players we've signed have been utter trash. We buy lower to midtable quality players for world class prices

I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we are ever going back to being regular title challengers.

When Bruno is gone and we get a footballer who stops treating Premier League football like fecking around with his mates on the astro.

The last two managers completely destroyed any aura we had of being a big club. We probably suffered more humiliating defeats under them than 50 years before that.

When we stop being over sentimental with players and rewarding them big contracts for doing little. Clear the deadwood. Rashford, Dalot, Malacia, Shaw, Casemiro, Eriksen, Onana, Antony. Buy players who actually are willing to do the basics. Like win a 50:50, clear the ball properly, make the right pass in the final third. We have a long way to go. This teams Footballing IQ is woeful. Ten Hag has been the worst thing to happen in ages. Set the club back years with absolute dross. If Amorim is given the tools I am confident that he can turn it around

It's been more than 10 years now. When will this end?
When the Glazers are tarred n feathered and run out of town. It’s all on them, leeching cash from the debt they gave us while employing idiots to give random donkeys multi million pound contracts.

I think the club is finished, too much rot has been allowed to fester, for far too long.

When we had Woodward in charge we were never this bad.

All these players are history once Ruben has his transfer windows

Never.

The universe is hell bent on paying us back in full with interest for the Fergie years.

All these players are history once Ruben has his transfer windows

How will they be history? All these players are on mega contracts, none of them will leave.

Maguire should have gone years ago. Lindelof, Rashford, Mount, Shaw. I could list half the squad. They’re not leaving because of the stupidity of the club when negotiating salaries.

Nothing has changed and nothing has been learnt. Gave a failing manager a contract extension in the summer only to sack him 2 months late and costing the club £20m. Now they’re whacking up ticket prices.

The club is owned and run by clowns. Nothing changes until the ownership changes which is never going to happen.

Hopefully once we get rid of these awful players.

But probably never. I think that we’ve had our time in the sun and can’t see us returning to the top for at least another decade. I hope I’m wrong, but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t win another title again before I die. We’re cursed. Other people have expressed it better than me in this thread but still. It’ll be like Liverpool’s wait for a title but even longer. It’ll be a longer period than our own wait from a title from between 1967 and 1993.

Maguire's contract is up in the summer. Just need to not take the 1 year option like we did with Lindelof who we ended up not being able to sell anyway.

But you know the club will give him a 1 year extension. It’s why the club has failed and still declining. The decisions makers keep making the wrong decisions.

I stand by Amorin was a poor decision as well. He may be a great manager but his system doesn’t compliment our group of players. We need two wingbacks, a CM, two 10s and a striker. Arguably backup CBs as well. Our most promising youngster in Garnacho doesn’t suit the system at all. And it’s not a United formation so when things go downhill fans will turn on the system very quickly.

I’d much rather we went for a manager that played 4-3-3 to provide some form of consistency. It’s one of the biggest mistakes we have made when changing managers.

A decade under a completely incompetent club hierarchy (Glazers, Woodward, Murtough, Arnold, etc.) didn't help either.

When Arnold took over as CEO and did that beer summit with a group of fans, he correctly diagnosed all the mistakes the club had made over the years that led it to squander billions and lose its financial and footballing edge... And then he inexplicably proceeded to repeat all those mistakes and waste another billion!

It won't be easy for us to recover from that.

Haven't we spent more than any other clubs in the last 10 years?

As shit as they are, it's hard to blame the owners for not spending money and they are hardly the ones deciding what players to sign.

Whom do you think we should have appointed?

It'll come good. Everything goes in cycles in football and city are coming to the end of theirs. Amorin needs time, a couple of signings and he'll get us purring again. You can see the frustration in him as he knows it's just a matter of time.

I hope that your prediction comes true.

A season in the Championship might give us the breathing space to make useful Changes.

We seem to be on a slow walk towards relegation and I just wish we get that route to meaningful change sometime soon as this eternal raising of false hope is getting me down.

It ends when you stop laughing at Chelsea's ownership and project and learn.
It's called a DRASTIC OVERHAUL!
Your ownership needs to get ruthless and cut all the fat...which is all the players on big fat wages. All of them as soon as possible.
Target young up and coming players with great trajectory. You already have a solid young spine to work with (Yoro, Amad, Garnacho, Hujlund, Mainoo).
Put them on moderate wages with high incentives to keep them motivated.
This team isn't going anywhere anyways, dedicate the next 2 seasons to this.
Build a young squad with potential and get a coach to build them. Don't get a manager and let him build "his" team. That is an outdated recipe for disaster if that manager doesn't work out.

In short, cut off all the branches on big money who think they've already made it, get younglings motivated to make it to the top and give it time.
It doesn't even have to be the extreme lengths Chelsea have gone like buying 16-17yr olds. Like I said you already have exciting young potential WC players in the first team, get 4-5 more and build around them.

Fans at old Trafford need to start giving these players some stick. If any of them were at Madrid or Barcelona they would be frightened for their lives. Our lot just post an apology and their names are sung the following week. Rinse and repeat.

Thomas Frank or Emery. Someone that knows the league and had similar set ups to what we did before. I know Frank is currently playing 3 at the back but he played 4-3-3 before.

We can’t keep taking gambles from the Netherlands and Portugal. The leagues aren’t good enough. Ajax should win the Dutch league every year. There are 3 top teams in Portugal and the rest are rubbish.
I can guarantee we go after Sporting’s Swedish striker for his £80m buy out clause. If you see his collection of goals this season he’s scoring against very weak opposition.

When we'll get our recruitment right , become braver in moving players on & stop handing out stupid contracts & contract extensions.

Hopefully, we'll see it happen with Amo combining with Berada etc. from the next window on.

Our squad is absolutely utter trash, one after the other we have signed completely filth players. There was a time we had Cavani, Greenwood, Rasghford, Bruno and pogba to score & create goals. Now we have players who won't make top half teams. Who signed off signing these players like Hojlund, Zirkzee and mount etc needs to be answerable

Liverpool took a gamble and it’s working for them.

But then again, they have given their manager a decent squad, we haven’t.

We have too many slow brainless players with limited skillsets.

It's crap in and crap out mostly.

Maz has been good, Amad has learned a lot on loan so hasn't been ruined. Maz looks like a CL player that has arrived out the box and we're missing about 15 more.
