We're not buying a striker in January, or anyone else that's not a loan or free agent.
We shouldn't be attempting to replicate other teams falling for the illusion that we are somewhat comparable. You are right, Fergie brought in quality, when it was available, Real is doing it too. But those stories have two things in common, those are already heavy hitting teams and in Fergies case, he usually was the chip leader at the table so could splash others out of the water. We 100% do, all teams have competition for attacking places. Fergie didn't look at Andy Cole, Sheringham and Solsjkaer and say we have enough, when quality was available he bought (York). Same with Veron, even though that failed.
Top Teams keep doing that, Real Madrid do that regularly, they want to up their levels. City also to an extent.
Go for Delap in the summer, no point eating our summer budget.
I cannot believe there are people on this thread saying bringing in a centre forward is "not a priority".
Our centre forward options are currently Hojlund and Zirkzee.
I'll repeat that again, our centre forward options are currently Hojlund and Zirkzee.
Do we want our team to score f**king goals or not?
Happy to help. They must have both heard you!
I don't disagree other positions need filling, but if Ruben goes for Gyokeres, I would trust him with that. Also I am sure we have plans for the other positions this Summer, along with a decision on outgoings further into the season. We shouldn't be attempting to replicate other teams falling for the illusion that we are somewhat comparable. Doesn't apply to this day. We have no real wingback in the squad, our midfield option aren't great and considering age of the players, will get significantly worse in short time. Right now we don't know, who is able to really flourish in those wide forward roles of the new system. There is more than enough to do. And while understandably, we made our bed by bringing in Hojlund for that big amount of money. Zirkzee was odd, no question and I wouldn't be against bringing in another one but that shouldn't be someone expensive unless we get rid of Zirkzee, which I would be fine with, but it certainly isn't how we did things in the last years. I know there is a proud tradition of keep spending on one area while others erode further and further... we managed to splash on RW options how many years in a row? 3? How many CBs have been brought in? One per year?
There is a rumour that Ferguson might be going on loan in January but like Delap we really don't need a young trainee striker.Well Ornstein linked him to us yesterday, so maybe that suggests there is interest
Son Heung-min with 18 month contract?
Yeah he will cost arms and legs. Also, why are you talking to yourself? No such thing as affordable when dealing with Levy
He's not going to buy Gyokeres anymore. All the strikers are already firing from all cylinders.I don't disagree other positions need filling, but if Ruben goes for Gyokeres, I would trust him with that. Let's see, all 3 have different qualities, but Gyokeres can do everything they can, at £60m it's a complete no brainer, I think we should buy him even if to stop him going to a rival. He's not going to buy Gyokeres anymore. All the strikers are already firing from all cylinders.
We did just blank against Arsenal. He's not going to buy Gyokeres anymore. All the strikers are already firing from all cylinders.
Isak. Forget affordability
Newcastle have PSR concerns too. Test the waters with 95. Part funded by selling some playersWe can't forget it though because of PSR rules.
Isak would cost north of £100 million and he'd want around 200k a week minimum.
And breach PSR? (which we’re right on the line of).Isak. Forget affordability
This is my dream. That guy has it allIsak. Forget affordability
Sounds like a nightmare...always injuries with isak. This is my dream. That guy has it all
If we have any money would try and tempt Napoli to terminate Oshimen's loan, they have supposedly shown interest in Zirkzee, so maybe some horse-trading could be done
I do not see us buying any senior player in January but would not be surprised if we got a loanee or 2 in
Best PL striker at this moment. I wonder would Newcastle sell him for big money next summer. He is worth every single euro.what's Isak's contract situation? What a fecking player, man
This is a good angle. Zirkzee would be a perfect younger number 2 to Lukaku in Conte's system. If we have any money would try and tempt Napoli to terminate Oshimen's loan, they have supposedly shown interest in Zirkzee, so maybe some horse-trading could be done

First of all, Michu had his career ruined by injuries. He could barely play after his great season with Swansea. He retired at 31 after playing football in lower league Spain where moving around wasn't as much of a necessity.I think he's one of those players that only has that one great season (i.e Michu). Think his star has faded.
Wide birth if true.Apparently Osimhen wants GBP550k per week of wages which is why Chelsea didn’t sign him. Those wages represent Rashford and Antony’s combined wages. While he may give us better value than those two, I wonder whether his signing is consistent with the messaging we have been getting from INEOS.
Either he reduces those demands or he can continue playing in Turkey and the likes whilst we move onApparently Osimhen wants GBP550k per week of wages which is why Chelsea didn’t sign him. Loan is very likely imo, with a hefty fee.Anyone think we are bringing another striker in January is dreaming.
I think that was Harry due to the size of his head.Wide birth if true.
