What’s going on at Nottingham Forest?

your friendly resident. forest fan. here.....its just about getting together a team whose players have got more. to gain together than they're ever going to get if they go off. individually with another team
no, we. won't get anywhere near the title and could well not make Europe, but its. been a. great ride.
as the. spurs boss said. to Brennan Johnson when we. reluctantly. let him go. last. season......dont. forget, you're. at. a big club now...
congrats on your. performance. against city.....youll soon be climbing the league again

Selling Elanga to Forest for 15m. Oh my stars. Might have been a useful WB in Amorim's system but he never really blossomed at United, but he was very young. We handled the situation poorly.

Not that it's likely to happen and in fact it's chances are close to zero but them piping Liverpool to the title would be peak football.

I’d love it if the year where City look off it, Forrest swoop in and win the PL over Liverpool and Arsenal.

Shocker and Ralf’s instincts were correct on Elanga.

Elanga wouldn’t have got the minutes he needed at United (he hasn’t even been a guaranteed starter at Forest for a chunk of this season). A loan might have worked but a) he might not have wanted that and b) we probably needed some cash to cover new signings.

Ralf played him quite a lot over a certain player we are now trying to get rid off. He is pretty decent and very rapid.

Leicester was only 2 points off Arsenal in 1st then. Now Forest are six points behind having played a game more than Liverpool.

Yeah, Leicester really only won the league because all the usual top teams were shite at the same time. Which is incredibly rare. Forest won’t have that luxury. Unless Arsenal and Liverpool’s form falls off a cliff.

Feels like we're going away to Atletico Madrid in their prime next week.

Forest fan for the rest of the season. Can they do a Leicester. Unlikely unfortunately with the scouse this season but heck of a performance so far.

Amazing what confidence can do to a group of players. A string of bad results and they’ll falter. They’ve done well for themselves though and must be having so much fun in that dressing room at the moment, but they are riding on a lot of confidence right now with players trying stuff and everything coming off.

What is their XGF, XGA and XP looking at relative to their actual position on the table?

Not sure, but I think they’re right down the bottom for possession.

Really cool season for their fans. Happy for Elanga as well. Look forward to watching them vs Liverpool.

They probably have the best CB pairing in the league at the minute with Murillo & Milenkovic - Also a keeper in amazing form in Sels.

I’m glad Nuno is repairing his reputation - he was never the right fit for Spurs.

They'll turn Liverpool over next and blow the title race wide open. It's written in the stars. Nothing would give me more pleasure than Liverpool getting teabagged 3-0.

Out of curiosity, I just looked up the PL table for game week 20 the year Leicester won it. They were second on 40 points, same as Forest.

I still think Liverpool will stroll to the title but they've got some major fixture congestion to deal with. 2 games per week until the end of Feb.

Arsenal are the only team who will benefit. Remember we’re barely at the halfway stage. There’s a whole second half of the season story. If Arsenal have a second half as strong as last season they’ll run Liverpool close. Forest’s run of form could and will end any game now. People always talk about the bigger picture of football as though it can’t change from one game to the next. Over 18 games it can change dramatically.

Heavily outperforming their xPTs thus far.

I think understat has them 10th or 11th in the table.

Ah yes, true. Forgot about that. Could count against them as fatigue sets in or one or two key injuries could set them back as well.

It's always great to see a team that wasn’t even considered contenders for a European spot running away with the league. Could Forest pull off a Leicester? That would be something!

Knowing how things go at our club, We will buy him back next year for 80M and he will turn to shite.

On understat, they are 9th on expected points, the lowest of 3 teams (City, Newcastle, Forest) on 31. Their xG is 30.49 compared to 29 goals scored, while xGA is 24.71 compared to 19 goals conceded. On xGA they are 3rd behind Liverpool and Arsenal, though 4 xG difference. In terms of goals conceded, currently joint 2nd, one goal behind Arsenal. Their individual results don't look that fortunate to me, only the wins against Liverpool and United are a big surprise relative to the xG. A couple of other wins, the margin is much greater than the xG would suggest.
