Westminster Politics

This is fecking despicable, why are GMP getting involved in what essentially amounts to private security for the conference? That bloke wasn’t breaking any laws.
To tough a job rooting out the nonces and rapist's in their ranks, much easier to be hired goons for the Tories.

Back in the day, people used to say the absolute bedrock Tory vote was 30%. It couldn’t go lower, that was your basic swivel eyed hardcore base. Well, that’s not true anymore, it’s more like 25%. All this shite is designed to get them to that 30% but it won’t get them any further. There is no majority in being BlueKip, they are dead as a party of government maybe for good.
I wish I could share your confidence. The popular support for policies like Rwanda suggest otherwise to me and they have the full force of the press behind them.

I think it will be a hung parliament. Starmer's weak and he will be slated every day in the papers til the election.

A hung parliament leading to a coalition with the Lib Dems requiring electoral reform would be the best outcome, even if the prospect of this version of the Tories polling 30% or more is depressing. The rhetoric is going to get even uglier over the remainder of this parliamentary term on the basis that the Tories have nothing positive to offer and ministers with leadership ambitions are playing up to the party membership (who by now are either in a nursing home or make Nick Griffin look soft on immigration).

Honestly, Suella worries me. As someone who's wife is on a visa here and someone who just has a conscious, she is someone who is trying to make the UK worse than the US through it's division. She is creating hatred for people who weren't born here or have a fecking brain cell

There are many people on prominent roles in the Tory party that are terrible human beings, but Suella is possibly the one who most clearly can be defined as a textbook fascist. No hyperbole, no loose labelling, none of that, just a 1930s fascist brought to the 2020s with a few minor tweaks here and there.

I keep hoping I bump into her in Manchester so I can call her a rancid cnut and possibly throw a milkshake on her. She is vile.

I saw something on social media saying he is going to struggle in an election campaign. Him and Truss were used to campaigning in front of friendly activists during their campaigns. They have never undergone questions during an election campaign. This robotic approach just isn't going to work.
Oh, I think it will.

During the debates (well, the single debate with pre vetted questions for no more than 30 minutes) Sunak will refuse to answer questions and respond with made up tales about how they're going to stop Starmer from eating children. When Starmer responds with "no I won't eat children, what a stupid fecking thing to say" the main headline will be "Starmer refuses to apologise for eating children."

Then Johnno the painter/decorator who can't read more than five words without getting a headache will see the headline, decide that Labour are scumbags who caused all the problems of the last decade, and vote Tory. And Cynthia the posh cnut, who was always going to fecking vote for the Tories anyway, will say "I WAS a floating voter but now I have no choice but to vote Tory because Starmer wants to hurt my grandchildren, who I don't actually give a shit about anyway otherwise I wouldn't vote fecking Tory in the first place, but hey ho."

Just look at the embarrassing shit today and then see how it's all being reported (if it even is).

In fairness, Starmer may easily become pro-eating children when somebody suggests to him that not eating children might be a bit socialist.

Going hard right to try and recapture that Brexit energy that served Boris so well was very predictable. It's so depressing how cynical the Tories are.

Like with Corbyn, individual policies can poll well at the same time as people not believing the package. People aren't buying the package and the polling is pretty clear on that.

I think labour are on for a solid win, because people don't just want a change of government, they want to hurt the bastards. All starmer has to do is not fcuk up, which he is, to be fair, doing.

They're more concerned with appeasing themselves and those in the party than the actual public, namely the hard right. The term 'out of touch' is bandied around a lot, but the lack of opposition and sequential internal elections has led to them losing all awareness of the UK population. The public are a complete afterthought in their rhetoric and policy, and hopefully the Tories will get a very big shock in the near future.
Yep. I don't understand it myself, surely someone there is reading the tealeaves. I personally think deep down they know they are fcuked, and are just securing their base against a challenge from the right. They are petrified of Reform because they don't know how to be anything else than what they currently are. So they keep tacking right. They got rid of all the MPs who did.

It is going to take 10 years for them to learn the lesson that British elections are always won from the centre. God knows how this lot can get from where they are to where they need to be with all the UKIP baggage they are now carrying.

Brilliant. Well done Victoria Derbyshire for calling out the constant raft of lies put out by the compulsive lying Tory government. She was completely right to do that because we have become desensitised to lie after lie.

Probably stepped on the dogs tail because it's black
Could be. I assumed it was part of the war on woke - dogs have had it too easy for too long and so called Guide Dogs are just another example of the virtue signalling elite trying to cheat biology.

I don't understand this one at all. Aren't there already huge pieces of infrastructure built for it along the way? Will they now just be monuments to tory rule from London to the Scottish border!?
Did anyone have to give up their house for the route?

Regarding the scrapping of HS2, I was listening to a programme manager who said that the route from Birmingham to Manchester was going to be funded with government borrowing.
And so there is no actual money to be saved.
And if Sunak announces that he is going to use the money saved by scrapping HS2 to be used for an east west rail link, that is also going to have to be funded by borrowing.

Surely this gives Labour room to be bolder. The centre ground is now all but abandoned by The Tories, they can occupy it, and not just that bit right of David Cameron, but that bit to the left of Tony Blair. They cannot drag the centre any closer to these Tory psychopaths, we cannot pretend this is normal.

Be bold and go for it, Keir. You're clean through and only Onana is in between you and the goal.

The other issues is it hurts our credibility with these sorts of projects. I am not a commercial guy, but our design team were told scraping this hurts us when we ask for funding on future infrastructure projects and UK would have a lower credit rating for such borrowing.

Torries have passed the centre ground straight to Labour. Even Labour can't mess this up, unless they pass it to another party and not take the shot themselves.

Can these scum make it any less obvious of their contempt for the north.

To be fair, it's fecking shite if it doesn't take you to central London.

As it stands, you can get a train from Birmingham to central London in an hour and twenty-five minutes. Once the first leg of HS2 is complete, it will take 42 minutes to get to Old Oak Common, but then an additional 33 minutes to get to Euston. So, if they complete the currently confirmed leg, at a total of 22bn, people will only save a grand total of nine minutes, but that does include a tube journey and that will rely on perfect connections and good service on TFL.
