Or you could argue that the Tories voted for a Tory govt and the Liberals for a Liberal govt. So the coalition had zero support. A government nobody wanted implementing policies few wanted.

Ironically by the far the best and most progressive government we have had post new Labour. Not that, that is really saying alot.

A PR system would probably bring a fair few coalltitons along with it and coallitions can go one of two ways. They can work where it stops one party getting too ideological with compromises along the way, or they can be a bit of a disaster where noone will compromise and very few policies actually get implemented.

The tories and the libs both compromised (the libs more that the tories) and some good policies got through and they set us on a fairly good road to recovery post financial crisis. Some awful tory led policies got through aswell of course, but it wasn't until the tories got full control that things started to spiral down heavily.

Fabricant looks like Ponyo's dad.

Nothing on earth will ever convince me that Michael Fabricant is a real person and not part of a comedy skit impersonating Boris Johnson

The puppeteers over at Spitting Image have really outdone themselves this time.

Scary Times

At least Lindelöf will be surprised.

"Victor will be appointed PM" suggests the Times editor was too busy high fiving their poster of a dying child to notice the sub-header needed the placeholder name adjusted.

Wait, that guy is an MP?

I mean, enough British people have voted for him to be an MP?

She will carry out JRM evil plans. Hes an evil peado looking cnut, shes his little puppet.

He’s feckin vile isn’t he… so we’re gonna be getting more involvement from Rees Mogg during a ‘cost of living’ crisis and a dystopian energy hike.

I've never heard of her. Is she good? An improvement over Borris at least? Are people in the UK now optimistic?

See above. She’ll be worse than Johnson.

Boris will do a Donald Trump in my opinion, he'll come back and try and win an election again.

Such hypocrisy. All those Tory MPs clapping Boris after stabbing him in the back just a few weeks ago.

And his leaving speech was classic Boris. Full of rhetoric and bullshit. Just proves how out of touch both he and his party are from reality.

But as I have mentioned before, he is keeping his options open for a return.
Because one thing is certain.
Boris adores power.

It just struck me what Liz Truss has been saying.
She is saying because we are in exceptional times, the public will have to make sacrifices. However, asking big corps to make sacrifices as well sends the wrong message.
Why are we not in the streets?

Not quite, the public vote for an individual person, which gives that person the power to vote in parliament, until the next election. That person could switch parties if they want to or vote to ditch the party leader/prime minister you thought you were voting for and pick a different one. Short of having referenda on everything I'm not sure how else it could work really.

I understand what you are saying, but where I live Labour have won in every GE, in modern day times, you could put up a dog with a Labour rosette on and it will win. It's a nice idea and in the strictest sense we do vote for an individual, who then chooses a party leader, but in my neck of the woods people vote party first, individual second. Thats why the 'red wall' vote was such a game changer happenstance... although it didn't work in my constituency!

Cost of living has got us all evicted yet

Because hypnotism, lowered standards, fear, self loathing, collective death drive.

He’s everything thats wrong with the political system

For what it's worth, I do think Liz will want to achieve something during her premiership. Not that I agree with many of her principles but her profile makes her sound ambitious and eager - I can see her at least 'trying'.

Far better than Johnson at least who was literally only in the role because he liked the idea of being top dog.

He’s the little shit you got in school who thinks he’s better than everyone including the teachers

I don’t disagree, but again, I think he’s worse than that.

He’s a sadistic, cruel man who enjoys kicking down and causing suffering imo.

He’s vile and should be nowhere near a position of influence or power in any country.
