Could there be post Boris manoeuvres

Gove (and cummings) will stab them both in the back (eat out to help out and bullying being the likley weapons of choice)

It’s appalling how she plays down the story (“Beltway news [you’re not in Washington] thar matters in Whitehall”). Is she a reporter or spin doctor?
She is an absolute joke of a journalist.

Any criticism and she declares bullying by the left. No, they are just holding you to account Laura.

That thread does read like the Iraqi propaganda minister, 'definitely no bust up, no sir, not at all.'

Boris is undermining our world beating moral superiority. English exceptionalism defo deserves its own thread, it's morbidly fascinating. Sounds like a job for @Sweet Square

If only Theresa had been PM at the time Trump wanted a full state visit with all the trimmings - no doubt she would have stood up for morality and refused.

Still, it will be amusing having a Ted Heath figure around for Johnson.

Why is there so little in the news about the tories votting down the ammendment for protection of the NHS against it being sold and the protection of our medical records.

ex ERG chairman... Its been Marc Francios (or frank mancois for fellow remainiacs) since 2020 ... though he happened to go very quiet around the time of brexit due to the rape allegations

Oh that all passed me by but like others, noticed he was quiet around Brexit. All of them were and still are tbh.
The tone of that article is dodgy if he is actually innocent.

Yeah might have to make one. The poppy thread was a half arsed attempt but it would be interesting topic to talk about.

It's not a surprise that a lot of dystopian films are set in England.

More cronyism...

Firm founded by Tory donor providing substandard laptops for vulnerable children

Not surprised to see this company being dodgy bastards. My local church needed new machines two years back and asked me to look over their quote from them (apparently they were recommended through some framework they use). Two very basic machines - 4GB RAM, i3 processors, 500GB HDD - £799 each. fecking each.

It’s ridiculous, the entire pandemic has gone tits up, and been an absolute disgrace, and they get one thing right and it’s all okay.

Even with a boost for a well executed vaccination program I'd be surprised if, given the shit-show of the last 12 months, we see anything like pre/early pandemic polling levels (24-26%) anytime soon.

The general public are thick as feck.

Tories will bring in a simple 3 or 4 word slogan and the masses will fall for it...they got Brexit done, and by the time of the local elections, things will be re-opening and a sense of 'normality' will be returning.

ANDDD the Corbynism supporters may not come out to vote Labour this time

Decimate and conquer. It's not that Tories want to starve children and kill sections of the population, it's just that collateral death is considered an inevitable price of good country management.

They see the classic trolley problem as not a moral thought experiment but a concern of transport efficiency.

But putting aside innate Tory callousness and that most governments are often shit at doing stuff, this iteration in particular, have
displayed a level of gross incompetence at running things in conjunction with making an active decision to fully embrace Trump bravadoism.

Jesus the sucking off of Tory backbenchers to Johnson in this PMQS is pathetic.

That is to a degree understandable. So many people just focus on the latest thing instead of looking at and considering the whole picture.
And quite honestly if people are so short sighted as to think that Boris Johnson and his government are actually doing anything other than a totally incompetent and shambolic job, then they deserve whatever they get.

Yet again and with over 100,000 covid related deaths, Starmer was not really able to score a knockout punch on Johnson.
This I believe is because Starmer is too much of a gentleman who believes that logic and tough questions are going to unsettle Boris.
Unfortunately, Starmer is going to have to become less well mannered and more brutal in his dealings with the PM.

His time is running out...in two weeks, we will significantly less daily cases, deaths and hospitalisations on the down too - and the vaccine roll out continuing to go well.

Boris will have got brexit done, and now leading us to a slow recovery.

Starmer needs to be kick to land a few solid hits

He needs a John Prescott to put the boot in. Current Labour MPs seem either polite or dim. I'd try bumping Jess Phillips up for more airtime, I know lefties don't like her but she does have a way of saying things ordinary people feel, and that seems to be hard for Labour at the moment.

Very much so. Labour is appearing too Starmer centric. He has to offer people an alternative voice. The people are there. He must start to trust and empower them.
The fact is that Boris has found a way of dealing with Starmer questioning. Just don't answer the question.
So give the lying git something else to contend with. And keep on doing that to expose him for what he is.
And if anyone needs me to explain that, then I am sorry for you.

I don't think I've seen a PMQ's where Boris has answered a question yet. Most of the Tory 'questions' is self-adulation of either themselves or the Boris.

But the vaccine roll out isn't the governments doing, it's the NHS. It's so important that people don't start giving the Tories credit for this.

Yes but they've got the Vaccine head in place, every press conference has it as one of the headline figures, and, Starmer is always saying they're doing a good job. The general public are too thick to tell the difference.

I agree with your point though
