Westminster Politics

Suspect Stewart will finish last in the next round of votes... And I can see javid and raab both withdrawing with the assurance of a good cabinet post from boris
Then it's between hunt and gove to be the anybody but Boris candidate... Suspect it will be gove and then Boris simply has to get through the next few weeks without saying something so bad he looses his massive headstart with the membership .... Not impossible he messes up as it's Boris but I think he really would have to out do himself

I think you're right, yet he seems the most popular with this audience. Probably not Tory enough.

Hunt has seemingly declared war on the elderly.

Having watched the Tory debate on channel 4 .Just give it to Boris, best of a useless bunch which is not saying much.

The thought of a Hunt/Tory death policy is marginally less appealing than Bruegel's skeleton army.

The fact they’re targeting their largest voter base is comforting.

Interesting to see Raab use the Maduro/Venezula comparison attack on Rory Stewart. It just shows how transparent and thin their playbook is that even within their own party they jump straight to failed socialism for any non hard right suggestion

Hunt on Corbyn's tweet about the tankers is the same. Claiming he's unfit because he won't side with their ally, well the rest of europe said the same as Corbyn so are they all unfit?

These people are simpletons.

Maybe, but they are one step away from power and the other 600+ simpletons in the HoC have contributed to that situation, so where do we go from here?
Boris the 'benevolent dictator' looms large, apparently willing to 'do the will of the people' and slay the EU dragon with one blow of his mighty 'No deal' sword (wonder if it will get thrown into the lake afterwards like Excalibur) … wait are we sure this isn't a J K Rowling script?

I feel sorry for Stewart, he has the advantage of being a relatively new face, relatively young (which is where the next but one Government of the UK will go) but everyone outside the Tory party is singing his praises thereby almost guaranteeing whatever chance he might have had will be damaged.

He must have regurgitated that at least three or four times last night.

It's not socialism that has brought down Venezuela it's corruption. You should read up about it, Raab too.

On positive side it really shows the tories have nothing at all. In the long term they are completely fecked without huge changes.

Boris also chickening out of the lobby hustings today and people actually want this man to be PM:wenger:

You wonder how he is going to handle the tough negotiations with the EU when he is too scared to go face to face with his leadership rivals.

I know that (although i admittedly don't know that much about it) but it's used to represent failed socialism in tory land. It must resonate with the public too as they wouldn't repeat it otherwise.

And he will still be treated by the media as a credible figure. Utterly spineless, devoid of any principles and motivated by nothing other than his own personal prestige. So far Umunna has stated that we should leave the Single Market, he has rejected the idea of a second referendum, and condemned the Lib Dems unequivocally as a party he could never align himself with.

And yet where is he today? A member of the Lib Dems, having spent the past year or so on an "ultra-Remain" platform championing a second referendum. It also exposes a glaring weakness in our political system that he can be voted in by his electorate as a member of the Labour party, leave to form a new party, and now change his mind again and join the Lib Dems, all without triggering a by-election.
I agree. I also find it hard that we are going to have a new PM without a General Election. We are going to have a PM that was only voted in by a small minority of the population.

Yeah mainly because they dont know or need a stick to beat someone with. Have a look at democratic socialism in europe, especially nordic countries. They're not failures at all.

Yep, even Rory the Tory seemed more concerned about his Party & career than his country at the rally today.

Is Rory Stewart’s past as an MI6 agent likely to hinder to boost his appeal in this situation?

The Telegraph are desperate. Should this shit even be legal? A PM candidate has his own personal propaganda news corp.
