West Indies V India

Real tense ending there, should of let Sehwag have a bowl as he was really getting some serious drift in the air which was causing problems.

India did very well to fight back. Jaffer played a jaffer of an innings as well and Dhoni played very well as well, India yet again had been batting at a very slow pace but he came in at the end and added runs very quickly.

The first day was very hard for the batsman as there was a lot of ball movement available for the quick bowlers and India were made to suffer. Showed a lot of charactor to fight back but made a big mistake having three inexperienced seamers.
Was a great game. TBH we almost won it even with the team we selected. Harbhajan and Pathan would have made huge difference. VRV for me, shouldnt be there, too inexperienced. Got some pace, but as the commentators said, cant bowl anything at the good length area. Its either full or short. And Munaf needs to bowl quicker. Iv seen him regularly bowl at 140 plus. He's very talented and here too bowled well but i want to see more effort.

i think sreesanth bowled a poor last over. dravid should have given sehwag more overs. definitely need to make changes for the second test. don't know what the reason was behind dropping pathan but they need him back now. agarkar, even though he has a rather poor test record, would do better than the bowlers we had in this test. i can't see india paying 2 spinners with sehwag bowling well. and kumble was india' best bowler in this tets so harbhajan looks all set to miss the next one.

Windies have just lost their only dangerous bowler. So i hope we go in with 5 bowlers. Pathan, Munaj, Sreesanth, Kumble and Harbhjajan.

VRV'S a dick.He shouldn't be in the team.Is in the same class as Wasan, Bhandari, Laxmi Shukla.

We played well to wrest back the initiative after a poor first innings but I thought we should've dismissed them in the last half hour.

One of Bhaji or Pathan should have played...
Both should have. This Pathan is a one off. Chappel thinks this is one of his masterstrokes. Even he knows Pathans our best bowler and we cant do without him. And looking at our spinners bowl, Harbhajan would have been something.
Now, with Edwards out(i think i heard he cant play the rest of the tests), dont you think it makes sense for India to play with 5 bowlers?

Thats a bit unfair. He's very young. Atleast he can consistantly bowl between 85 to 90 mph, which by Indian standards is quick. I dont think he's ready for International cricket yet. He's definately a talent.. good pace, and gets very good bounce. Would like to see him improve before making the step up. Serious improvements in line required, its clear for everyone to see.

He never looks like getting wickets. At any point in a match.Any time I've seen him.

We're not exactly spoilt in the pace bowling department so I suppose he has to be tried out.Atleast RP had good control over the ball.

We are not privvy to the information why Pathan did not play - he did look out of sorts in the one dayers. Bhaji would have been ideal on the last day.

I would say with the form of Dhoni and the talent shown by Pathan on the batting front, India would be well suited to play with five bowlers...

Going with three novice fast bowlers in the same game was suicidal...

I dont know why our management is obsessed with VRV. He seems to get selected when he doesnt deserve it and the country wonders why. Must be some politics because he's clearly not ready.

Parthiv Patel - II

"Setting him up for the future"- when he won't even make the team.

Idiots, play the best players. Agarkar should have been in the squad.

Second test:

Sehwag taking the Windies apart (99 NO) - just failed in his attempt to hit a century before lunch...

140 - 0 at lunch.

Honestly, they aren't even comfortable against Sehwag. Bhajji would have raped them..

The Windies have never produced decent spinners, they are far more at ease with pacers I feel - that's always been their game.

Slow bowlers/pitches are Windies worst nightmare...

No they won't.

Lara > India
Didnt he do squat the rest of the tour? And got a duck in the last innings or something?
Over Rated.

India win the series, Dravid yet again rescues India and they won by 49 runs. That guy is a fecking machine, his average for India is now almost 60 which is just insane. Made almost 500 runs in this series and yet again is the star for India away from home, played brilliantly on a very very difficult pitch.

IMO India could of won this series 4-0 if the previous 3 matches had been 50 overs longer. Due to the weather it went down to the last game and at one point looked like West Indies would nick a victory but India came through it.

First time in 20 years away from the sub continent India have won a series, that is a stat India should be ashamed of tbh.

Atleast its not more than 20 years now.;)

Well played Dravid, you're a god.

Kumble was excellent.

Wrong-o. We beat mighty Zim recently.
Frankly i dont care much about those little stats. I know its changed. In the nineties we couldnt win anything outside, we just turned up, lost and went back. Obviously we beat everyone in India.
But in the last 3 or 4 years, we've beaten Pakistan, Zimbabwe and West Indies(which is huge for us, considering no matter how crap WI teams are we lose) away, drawn in England and Australia, against one of the greatest teams ever, which no one else has managed. That too with us dominating things in the end, not managing a draw. I think thats pretty good, considering our past performances outside India. We're over it, the mentality has changed.

Dravid said first time in 20 years, obviously doesn't know what he is chatting about ;)
