West Indies V India

Should make this series a lot more interesting. Thank god the one dayers are before the tests. Last couple of tours, by the time we've gotten into our groove, the tests have already passed.

All joking aside, I know you lot are not the best away from home, but West Indies?

For fecks sake.

We begin every series poorly. Wel probably win the test. Wish Sachin was fit.

Not suprised India lost. Apart from Tendulkar, Dravid, Sehwag and Kumble none of the players have been able to perform abroad consistantly.

Also not suprised to see Pathan struggle, his stats in this tour make him look a lot better than he was imo. When there is no swing available he usually is crap. Yet the people in India seem to think he IS the chosen one and will lead India to greatness. All good knocking people over when the ball swings like a boomerang but his lack of pace will get him exposed badly otherwise and imo apart from one match he had a poor ODI series and I expect similar struggles in the test arena. Or what about Dhoni, he is better than Sangakara and Gilchrist you know ;) Yet another player exposed in foreign conditions. I'm not saying these guys are bad players but I expected them to do poorly here and that is what happened, because they aren't used to playing in non Indian conditions

This India team will never make it to the top because their players are motivated by money rather than becoming the better players imo. If the likes of Pathan, Sreesnath or Patel want to become top bowlers they would spend some time in England where they would become much better. Look at what it did for Waqar and Wasim, it helped them stay at a top level longer and helped them improve their overall game. Even Rana now doesn't look the pie chucker of old because his experience here is helping him. I really think if some of these Indian players would spend 2-3 years here they would become much better players but they won't because there is probably more money and fame available in India.

Some plus points for India are Kaif and Yuvraj. Yuvraj just looks in some stunning form, he is really coming on nicely as a player and good to see Kaif shake off a real real bad run of form!

India are shit.

Its all do with the team selection.Venugopal Rao and Uthappa despite an odd good innings aren't technically good enough to cut the mustard at the international level particulary in the carribean where India has a very poor record. In the absence of Sachin India needed the experience of Laxman and Saurov. There was no depth as we were unable to look beyond the five main batsman.

Are you ryansgirl 'n guise?

Great reply to my post, how on earth will I come back from that :wenger: Instead of arguing the points you take the easy route, kind of like the Indian players ;)

I'm actually a big fan of Indian cricket and Tendulkar will always be my favourite player but it a damn shame what is happening right now because the batting lineup in theory should be the best in the world but it very rarely performs against the top sides in recent years, especially abroad.
