Colin, don't be naive. Do you really think there is only one way of entering Carrington?

Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher and Giggs is not enough. Fletch hasn't been in form for a year or so, it's perfectly conceivable that Giggs' legs could go this season. One long layout and he might not recover his form. Anderson is injury prone and only has the stamina for 75 minutes each game which leaves Carrick as our only "safe" option.

Cleverley, Park, Giggs, Jones, Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Gibson, Young. Seems we have enough players to get around those CM positions. I'm not saying we don't need another quality CM, I'm just saying we'd still be in contention for the league if we don't get another one in.

I don't think you know enough to claim Fergie is trying hard for another midfielder. If there was an emergency as you made out, I think he'd give in and sign a lesser player.

Problem is, what if some of those lads got injured for a lengthy period next season? The young lads wouldnt be able to jump in & do a job like they could!

The fluke that happened to Fletch is something we werent prepared for - u cant really anticipate something like that, but i'd say it did Fergie's head in - especially not havin an on-form Fletch for the Champions League final. If that were to happen again, United would be kickin themselves!

I'd love us to get Banega aswell as Sneijder.. there's nothing wrong havin quality in depth, given that most of us were pullin our hair out at the lack of depth & form of our mid-field in large periods of last season!
