I still hold the belief that all of these articles are being published because they no longer have the Nasri and Modric transfers to write about seeing as they're both pretty much confirmed as not coming here so they're writing everything on this now.

Maybe there is truth hidden in there though, who knows.

I have literally never passed on one of these before, as they are never normally reliable, but...

Somebody I would very much trust, with a genuine contact at the club, claims Sneijder is in or on his way to Carrington today.

You're a brave man saying this on here ;)

If that's not true then

He was allowed a kickabout at Old Trafford, donning the new shirt.

May the force be with you. :nervous:

Technical director Marco Branca Internazionale yesterday, reportedly confirmed that Wesley Sneijder is not for sale. Yet there last Monday in England on behalf of the 27-year-old midfielder has spoken with the management of United.

This reports the AD today. Sören Lerby, agent of Sneijder wants on any transfer 'nothing' to say. Sources at United confirmed that there Monday through club and player have been carried out. Both parties would like a 'good conversation' experienced. Sneijder's contract with Inter runs until the summer of 2015. On this basis, the Italians think about 35 million euro transfer fee to ask, so leaked. That money is needed owner Moratti Massimi, Italian media report, the financial management of his club under UEFA's new guidelines on order. Besides the salary of Sneijder press heavily on the budget. He earns about fifteen million euros a year, the remaining three seasons thus saving 45 million. Read the whole story today in the AD.

Probably not the best negotiating tactic for the technical director to say he's 'untransferable' and then allow him to board a plane to Manchester.

This one is certainly building a head of steam, but it's been hanging around like a bad smell for ages now so I just can't figure out if it's paper bullshit or what.

I would normally expect us to sign someone a bit younger too, but we have signed Young who is a similar age and we do have some really exciting young talent in midfield. Getting an "older" midfielder would maybe make sense as he would hopefully fit in and do a job almost immediately, while not being here for the long-term and in the meantime our youngsters can continue progressing without pressure.

I'm still a bit dubious, I must admit. I still kind of expect us to pick up someone like Fellaini who is rumoured to want out and in the last year of his contract, or Rodwell who we have had our eye on for a long time as well.

Sneijder can feck off, this is getting tiring. I can't wait for the transfer window to close. I am happy with our current squad, Fergie always pulls it off either way.

To be fair, I'm happy whatever the outcome (presuming us paying him more than Rooney isn't an option)...

Either he signs, meaning he values playing for us more than whether he takes home £150,000 a week or £200,000 a week (or whatever the figures are - the point is it makes no difference at that level).

Or he doesn't, in which case he's all about the money and can go play for City as far as I care.

I'm not going to get unduly worried about it taking a while for the decision to be reached, these things always take time, and that's far form being purely the player's fault.

It's past "being a muppet" if you think we need a midfielder now. If blatantly obvious we do.

Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher and Giggs is not enough. Fletch hasn't been in form for a year or so, it's perfectly conceivable that Giggs' legs could go this season. One long layout and he might not recover his form. Anderson is injury prone and only has the stamina for 75 minutes each game which leaves Carrick as our only "safe" option.

Sack Fergie, Sell Giggs, Release Fletcher, Buy Sneijder

simples....

Obviously Fergie doesn't think he can pull it off if he's making such an effort to sign a midfielder, be it Sneijder or Nasri... He wouldn't sign someone just for the sake of it, would he?

That just backs up the point that we need two quality mid-fielders in!

just got word that Snejeder may be at carrington today, unconfirmed reports

Sneijder is at Pinzolo where Inter were invited to stay for some pre-season training.

just got unconfirmed reports Sneijders dutch

If we had no talent coming through I'd agree with that but with Carrick, Sneijder, Anderson, Fletcher and Giggs, I'd be happy if we make a gamble and aim to bring through Tunicliffe and Pogba over the next couple of seasons.

He could easily get to Manchester, negotiate with United, fly back and agree with you. Doesn't mean it's true though.

It's on.
