Inter coach Gasperini was talking about the transfer market today, and how he wants to have a settled, final team to work with. An omission is notable, perhaps, when he talked about the desired make-up of his team: "...this team is composed of a very solid core that do not talk much, but gives strength and ensures continuity: Chivu, Samuel, Lucio, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Stankovic, Milito. Then there are the young guys. It's very exciting for me to hear from the president that we must be competitive immediately, but also that we need to launch the young people like Alvarez, Castaignos, Pharaohs, Obi."

Thanks be to Jesus we've looked shit hot so far as the muppets would be in a bad way, a bad way indeed.

This threads been fun anyway.

I'm pretty sure Young, Cleverley, Welbeck and Anderson are the reason this deal isn't happening.

Well if I was a transfer muppet I would not consider that quote conclusive by any means. Far from it in fact.

Was he winking when he said anything can happen?

To an extent yes, but Ferguson isn't so naive to think they'll play this well all season, he said so himself.

More wage demands and transfer fees.

'Massimo Moratti says he is not for sale, but Wesley Sneijder still has doubts about his future. According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Netherlands international wants to move to England.

Inter would surrender in the face of an indispensable offer but this has never arrived. The fact is United have pulled back because of the player's salary. The alternative to Modric for Chelsea but they apparently then decided to invest in Alvaro Pereira.'

Sneijder: "A transfer would take a miracle, but anything can happen."

I think our performances so far have shown that we do not lack creativity in the final third - at the moment, we are fine, but it will be one hell of a season and I'm still not against signing Sneijder.

Hopeful though, I am not anymore.

 @ Cheltenham Red's post.

I think against a real test that when Sneijder's final third expertise will be crucial. Looks like he wants to come but we'll see. Doesn't look promising.

Moratti: "Firstly, Wesley Sneijder is still with us. Until 31st August there is always opportunity for something to happen."

He is inviting offers
we arent biting
Chelsea might if they cant get Modric.
Who knows future. Only God knows future

If it was all put to bed, there wouldn't be any 'but anything could happen' 'but we might sell him' 'he's staying but he might go' etc. If he was staying he would say 'no, end of, he's staying. That's it.'

Deadline day is going to be mental in here.

This.

They've virtually stuck a for sale sign on Sneijder but nobody wants to pay his wages.

Someone needs to reignite this on twitter on something, otherwise deadline day could be boring for United fans concerned. All of us always want to be a part of that, no?

That would be too much...Have not recovered from the Berbatov saga in 2008 yet!

I expect Wednesday to be a very busy day, there still could be something happening for United, but the other teams in the league will definitely be buying and selling big time.

Marcel Van der Kraan might be on the Matterface program on Talksport tonight, this according to the presenter's Twitter.

Cerainly not looking forward to Wednesday now, the internets will implode from all this and Harry Redknapps usual spending frenzy in a warehouse full of players nobody has even seen play before.

Id be very surprised if we picked anyone up bar another youngster for the academy.
