Nasri and Fabregas wages combined must have been quite a lot though? They can spare that

It isn't that they can't afford it, but their wage structure means that they would have to bump all their other (remaining) senior players up or else face even more mutiny.

Can you believe the Caf' still thinks I'm coming?

:lol::lol:

Wait for WR8 to read "I don't think" as sign that we are.

To be fair, it's not exactly definitive. He must know if we' re still pursuing anyone, and if the answer is no, then why not say for definite.

I'm not saying he's wrong, just that this doesn't really add to what we've been hearing for weeks.

Ha, Twitter is now full of people tweeting stuff like 'Well of course, I knew he wasn't coming...'

 & plenty still saying "Lets see at the end of August"

Still happy for them to prove us wrong by the 31st, but still it looks like GAME OVER for now :(

It's not definitive Because am sure we are always working on identifying opportunities and if one comes along, we aren't going to say well we are done so we won't go for it.

Basically what it tells us is that we aren't trying very hard at the moment to make any deals happen by the close of the window to bring someone in.

Sounds about right. My best guess is that the offer is there for Sneijder, and the ball in his court. We're not optimistic, but haven't ruled anything out.

I'm not sure who is worse

Those praying we get him twisting every bit of news into evidence of why we will - or those who don't want the deal to happen twisting every bit of news into evidence of why we wont.

True, it's hilarious how people turn the thread into a slagging match between those who "know" he'll sign and those who "know" he wont. When in reality none of us know feck all.

Its finished oh well, it was evident from day 1 that we needed to strengthen the defense and the flanks and not a CM. Maybe we'll add a striker by the end of the month. We certainly need that.

On the one hand I would have liked to see a class midfielder beeing singed..on the other hand our youngsters have really done well so far and truly excite me.

The question will be whether they can consistently perform that well against tougher midfields.
And hopefully there will be no major injuries.

BTW: As I see it the transfer market closes on 1st september and up until that day anything can happen still I guess.

Gill shouldnt be trusted. A month before he said we were looking to bring one more player in.

I'm suing Gill, Sneijder, the internet, Sky, Twitter, Inter and Guillem Ballague for loss of earnings this summer, due to the time I've wasted

I know what you mean, I have lost half the hair on my head. I have only 37 left.

The statement made by Gill isn't definitive.

Spoke to my sources earlier today and was told that nothing is happening - although we'd still be happy to sign him.

From my understanding we're p***** off at being given the runaround this summer. Inter want it to happen (at the right price of course). Sneijder came out and said he wants it to happen. My source implies that it could be the agent.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see a last-day offer put in to get him. Think we seem to be certain that Inter are having financial problems (as are all of Italy as the country's about to go broke!)

We don't know if he's coming or going! :D

This is true, my nephew arrived in Rome today and went to pick up the Golf TDi Hire car that he had paid for up front and got a Skoda

∴ This tranfer is looking ominous.

By your source, I take it you mean redcafe.net?

To be fair Skodas are very good cars these days, probably as good as VWs just without the name.

Is there a lesson here re Sneijder v Cleverley? Was the car hire company trying to pass a message to us?

Doesn't the agent work for..and is under the instruction of...the player?

The ability of a player to exert a measure of control over his agent is a new criteria of mine for assessing a player. If they can't handle their agent then they won't be able to handle playing for United.

Your sources eh?

Yes - As I've posted before I do have sources pretty high up at OT (or more accurately a source).

The information I get is limited though so I'm not an ITK. But this statement is all true - just sorry that I can't be definitive!

Your connections are wasted on us lot, get a twitter account ffs.

I suspect that the club tell their employees to deliberately spread misinformation for some reason.
Somebody who genuinely works quite high up there genuinely told a workmate of mine that Sneijder was flying in for a medical a few weeks back (see my first posts in this thread).

Thanks. Got one. And post to it. But on a thread that's talking about the possible transfer of Sneijder the information I've given here is much better than at least 90% of the posts on this thread.

So don't agree with you that this is wasted.

Are you saying that when I genuinely hear something about Sneijder that you don't want to hear it?

What I was doing was making a facetious "you're too good to be working for this company" remark. Good to know it flew over your head though.
