I love the image of Wesley being on his flight somewhere and just hearing "sorry we will have to land in Manchester to refuel, all passengers must leave the plane" and thinking "oh for fecks sake"

Not funny bro.

That's because nothing is happening at the moment. Manchester United are keeping things close to their chest. However, I reiterate:-

Sneijder has been given countless opportunities to say that he is staying with Inter this year. He hasn't.

Rene Meulensteen has said that Sneijder would be the perfect signing for us.

Sneijder has said that he has had unofficial talks with Manchester United and that he could move - although he could stay.

David Gill has said their trying to sign a world class player and if something moves then something could happen very quickly.

SAF has always reiterated his stance that nothing is happening 'at the moment' although says that Inter don't want to sell. We know that they do as Sneijder has said that they do.

Also Inter are saying that he is untouchable one day and saying that he could go the next. This is a sign that they want to sell him but want to come across as a reluctant seller to get the highest possible price.

SAF is now saying that he is happy with youth which is what you would expect him to say (just in case the deal doesn't come off). Interesting to note that everybody is buzzing about our young players. The last time we had this we brought in Cantona to blend things in. I expect the same with Sneijder.

With all sides jockeying for position I think it shows that all sides want to do a deal so a deal is likely to happen. All that remains is the terms which is why all sides are jockeying for position.

I would say that we are waiting to launch a last-minute attempt to get Sneijder to test Inter's resolve to keep him. Work on the market value by making a reasonable offer so that Inter cannot play games and Sneijder cannot play games. If they play games then 1 or 2 parties don't want to deal, if they accept then they do.

I would look for something sometime over the weekend - although it will be interesting to see what happens with the Italian Footballer's strike!

Good points. It has gone quiet but a few weeks ago there was a real sense of something happening but a hell of a lot of posturing.

Let's see

Wr8 will fecking love this.

Rather ludicrous story going 'round that Arsenal will bid for Sneijder.

I saw that. It was followed by "because of course the Gunners are always matching £250,000-a-week wages.."

I thought it would be a late transfer window sort of deal, but I can't see it now. Quiet isn't bad but this has gone a bit too quiet, and I don't see why Inter would want to delay any deal until the last moment when they could use the money.

It was always a tough deal to make, but not impossible. I think the form of Anderson and Cleverley so far may have been enough for it to be easy for Fergie to decide the deal is too much trouble and money,

It looks like we are the ones delaying any possible deal.

I would imagine that their London location is just about the only thing Arsenal have going for them when it comes to attracting these names.

According to reports Arsenal are preparing a shock move for Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Inter are ready to sell Sneijder, with Manchester United stalling on making a new offer for the Dutchman.

It is understood that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may use some of the cash gained from the sales of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas to land the Nertherlands international.

Gunners skipper Robin van Persie would welcome the arrival of his countryman, though personal terms could prove an issue.

There's about as much chance of Fergie speaking to the BBC......oh wait, never mind :nervous:

Johnny Giles in his Evening Herald article last night said he felt United would abandon their pursuit of Wesley in favour of making a late bid for Modric.

So I had a dream last night that we signed Sneijder. I don't even want the lad here. I blame you muppets.

Couple of Twitter rumours about that Gill is meeting Sneijder and/or Inter reps after the CL draw today.
