I tend to think that a lot of mains posters should never have been promoted. Though by 'promoted' I mean from a foetus to a living human being.

thats because you enjoy the taste of those aborted snack sized treats.

This threads going nowhere again. another lock down?

Yesssss :D

Anyway as posted in the other threads, Sneijder has not trained with Inter today for "personal reasons" and has not been called up by Gasperini for tomorrow's friendly in Geneva.

I believe he'll move to United but there is always the chance that City will go after him now that they might not be getting Nasri.

Still I can't see Sneijder moving to City.

The only reason he joins City is if he wants to maintain/increase the wages he is currently on. If he leaves then I think he leaves for United.

I'd rather United go for Nasri than Sneijder due to age, and Premiership experience.

Ok. Who the feck is Jose Alberti

Agent Jose Alberti is sure Wesley Sneijder will join Manchester United. In his words, he said despite Sir Alex Ferguson’s comments, it is very likely Sneijder will be sold to United. “Sneijder will leave Inter. He’ll probably go to Manchester United and for Sneijder, there is only United.” He said

He's got a good track record

'
JOSE ALBERTI has said that the deal between Milan and Wolfsburg over Edin Dzeko is already done, and the player will join the lines of the Rossoneri after the World Cup.

The nonstop negotiations between AC Milan to German side, VfL Wolfsburg has ended in the middle of January according to the expert market agent, Alberti, and their striker, Dzeko, will join Milan.

Milan tried the sign the Bosnian striker in the summer, but differences in fee between the clubs blocked the move, and Edin signed a new contract with Die Wolfe. However, Jose Alberti is confident that the deal is done.'

Some sort of Argentinian super agent according to google.

Not sure what that means mind.

You're getting desperate now.

Eto'o was left out of Inter's last squad and he's off to Anzhi.

Sneijder left out of Inter's latest squad and... :smirk:

Oh, the irony

Does Sneijder's huge wage demands not put you off the player wr8? I mean, he should recognise that United is such a great club and if he wants to join he should accept we won't give him City like wages. He's still getting insane amounts of money. How much can a man want?

Why would that put you off? I agree its high but that doesn't put me off. I still want him here.

Not desperate at all, if we get him great, if we don't I'm equally not arsed. I'm afraid though that there's a chance of Sneijder to City as well though.

Like I said, it's almost devaluing the club. His decision will be fueled by getting an extra 50k or whatever and it might have a negative effect on the other players who get nowhere near as much.

According to all the reports, Rooney seems to be getting pretty high wages. It seems to go down well with the players now, doesn't it? I don't really see anyone complaining. I don't think SAF is the type of manager who the players go too and demand more salary. With the Rooney case, I don't know what happened. But usually he is not the type of manager who you can bargain with. Plus our players seem to be modest, happy with what they have and don't really show their egos.

As much as his agent tells him he can get. If money is his prime motivation, then let him join City. Personally, I'd rather see lads like Welbeck and Cleverley making the grade here than bringing in a "marquee" player like Sneijder whose demands might upset the harmony of the dressing room. From what I've seen of Cleverley, he's got the talent to go all the way to the top like Beckham and Scholes before him. What we really need is a ball winner who can break up opposition attacks and give the ball players the space and time they need to take control of the midfield. IMO, Sneijder isn't that player.

I'm not paying him.

Anyway we don't know what the wage demands are and to get the best players you have the pay the best wages so I think we need to accept that eventually.

Can you imagine what salary Ronaldo would be on right now if he was still with us? Would that have put you off the player?

I dont think it s about his wage demands any more. Lately inter were very successful in getting big money - a case in point ibrahimovic. Now they re trying the same trick with eto and sneijder.
from what was published in the italian media, i got the impression that they are being extremely hard in the negotiations. In fact it was reported that during one of the negotiation rounds with anzhi, someone even threw a glass on the floor.

On the flip side, United should recognise that Sneijder is such a great player and if we want to sign him we should accept he won't accept wages that are offered to players of significantly less ability.

There seems to be a thing where people think the player should bend over for the club, it's the other way round. The club have gone to player X because they need/want him, they haven't said 'look lad, out of the goodness of our hearts we have decided to give you the chance, neigh, the opportunity, to play for our establishment... (I know people think it should be that, but let's be realistic) ...but we want you to be paid a lot less than you currently are.'

In other words if you want the best you pay the best. It would be a bit unreasonable of United to say to Sneijder 'we recognise you're world class and will be one the few very best players at the club but we don't want to pay you on the same level as them we want to pay you much less than those of the talent you are up there with who will be earning much more than you. Let's forget the fact that we've come to you because we are the ones in need, let's pretend that you are the one that needs us and that way we hold the upper hand and get everything we want, the right player, the right money, and don't have to budge on anything.'

If City are interested I reckon he'll be at Eastlands come September 1st.

They're the only club in the world right now who'd be willing to match Sneijder's excessive wage demands.

This is Football we are talking about. It's all about the money. Don't kid yourself. The majority of the players we already have are about the money too. Last time i check they don't all support United.

What harmony... what a load of bullocks. First of all a player has to be comfortable to say they are as good as so and so to questions their wages. No offense but i don't think any of our centre midfielders rate themselves as good as Sneijder.

He's a top footballer... Pay him top whack!

Rooney is on good dough. Noone else at the club has the profile of Sneijder and as such I cannot understand why people think he'll destroy our wage structure.

The squad will be estatic if we sign him. In fact, about half of the players that are on our books have even said this!!
