Wesley Sneijder

Still don't think we need this type of player. Even less so after seeing Cleverley and Anderson link up on Sunday.

Lets just hope Anzhi don't come in for Sneijder as well. There's no way we could compete with 20m a year in wages.

No way in hell he is going to move there. If he says no to City, who are in better contention for trophies, then why would he want to move to Anzhi?

Well I know he wouldn't but 20m a year is just crazy stuff. I wasn't really being serious though, Wesley is ours.

I am hearing that there is NO agreement between #MUFC and Inter for the transfer of Wesley #Sneijder - there is no deal (as far it stands).

Cock in.

I posted this in the Nasri thread but it also applies here

There's another side to this argument which has sort of become the elephant in the room...

lets take Sneijder for example... lets say he is wooed by Fergie and wants to sign for a team that are favored to win the league and have a very good shot at winning the CL in 2011/12.

... With Ferguson as manager...

Lets say we do win this season (or even if we don't) how many more seasons will Fergie be in charge. If you were making a long term commitment to a club, with its current manager being one of the main reasons you'd want to sign here... wouldn't it cross your mind that he won't be here beyond 2-3 seasons, at most? And for as much as we want to claim the club and all of its history and traditions is a reason for players to want to come here, so is playing for Fergie and what he has done at this club. How many of us thought he might step down if we'd have beaten Barca... I thought there was a chance.

post Fergie time at Old trafford will be one of transition, no matter who steps in here. This is where the City threat will be at its greatest, and their growth as a club is timing out with Fergie's last days here.

I think this does matter to a player who is thinking of choices when it relates to his long term future

For the record probably more than any other club bar Arsenal!

Look at the clubs he could go:-

Real Madrid: already failed there & they swap Managers like confetti
Barcelona: not wanted there & don't know how long Guardiola likely to be there either
AC Milan: change managers regularly under Berlusconi
Arsenal: Can't afford him
Chelsea: Change managers like confetti
Manchester City: Change managers regularly

We've probably got 4-5 seasons out of him and I would bet that SAF is here in 4-5 seasons time - once he has established the club's dominance on the European stage!

The same Howard Nurse who thinks we aren't in for Sneijder.

I dunno, why would a senior BBC sport journalist lie about it?

Andrea Ramazzotti, who covers #inter for corriere della Serra, tells me #manutd will seal #sneijder deal by Monday. Clubs talking at moment

Could this be the first transfer in history where 2 clubs and a player agree to a transfer simply because they get so fed up with the rumours that never die ? :)

feck sake, it's out again.

He talks absolute bullshit. He's the one who believed the fake ITK (liverpool fan) and said that Modric would be having a medical with us.

He also said we have no interest in Sneijder.

Not sure why the hell are people believing Howard Nurse, he said that we aren't even interested in him but I think now it's clear that we've interest in him(Sneijder confirmed that)

Howard is the laughing stock of Twitter, that's some feat.

Imo the eto-anzhi deal may have broken the ice - and forced united to make an offer. Perhaps united thought that if inter sell eto they would be in a better financial position and possibly would be less inclined to sell sneijder.
Or else, it could be that this line of thought may have triggered the latest round of speculation on twitter...

So... the only rumour has started from the BBC 5 live dude? Ugh.... :(

One thing is for sure...being constantly in the news will help all the three parties from the commercial point of view...

Started by a BBC 5 Live guy, denied by a BBC writer and then once again confirmed by a different BBC writer.

Man I feel so alive now. This is the first time I have been reading the cafe when live reports came in. I wasn't reading the cafe last summer for the Ozil transfer. Hence this is the first BIG name signing I am available for.
