Wesley Sneijder

They must have agreed the majority of the personal terms before launching any official bid otherwise it would look silly if we can't agree wages. I hope this is concluded tomorrow.

I had the more important task of trying to buy Sneijder from Inter on my FM game tonight ;)

There will be other summer and other muppet target. Just try to stay online next time. Think of this sneijder thread as a practise. ;)

Working on trying to get an update about #Sneijder amid claims that #MUFC have agreed a £33m fee with Inter...

I bet he says we have no interest in Sneijder

McGarry isn't to be trusted and the BBC man have just retweeted that. Don't want to sound as a pessimist but I'm not getting excited until other sources pick on it.

Stop encouraging him!

wr8, you have sinned and are no longer worthy of being a transfer muppet.

"Reports say" "still need to agree personal terms"

sound familiar? its an easy lie tbh, if he doesn't sign you have the out of saying personal terms couldn't be agreed.

I'm remaining skeptical

I think if we've really agreed the fee then it means we're ready to pay him his wages and sign him. Gone are the days when you would approach a player only after agreeing a fee.

Yup I'm still a bit cautious about this. McGarry isn't exactly reliable but all the "ITK's" have been very excited all day about the fee being agreed and they're all adamant that he'll be signed up by Thursday/Friday.

If WR8 is cautious, it's more than likely bullshit guys.

my point is that we've heard it before in the papers.

Its very easy to say because you have the get out because you have already said that theres a contract issue. If it doesnt happen, you can say they failed to agree terms.

Tufty
Looks like a £33 million fee has been agreed for Sneijder with Utd, possible announcement tonight.

If Tufty says it then it must be true!

There's another side to this argument which has sort of become the elephant in the room...

lets take Sneijder for example... lets say he is wooed by Fergie and wants to sign for a team that are favored to win the league and have a very good shot at winning the CL in 2011/12.

... With Ferguson as manager...

Lets say we do win this season (or even if we don't) how many more seasons will Fergie be in charge. If you were making a long term commitment to a club, with its current manager being one of the main reasons you'd want to sign here... wouldn't it cross your mind that he won't be here beyond 2-3 seasons, at most? And for as much as we want to claim the club and all of its history and traditions is a reason for players to want to come here, so is playing for Fergie and what he has done at this club. How many of us thought he might step down if we'd have beaten Barca... I thought there was a chance.

post Fergie time at Old trafford will be one of transition, no matter who steps in here. This is where the City threat will be at its greatest, and their growth as a club is timing out with Fergie's last days here.

I think this does matter to a player who is thinking of choices when it relates to his long term future

There really is nothing to being a Twitter ITK, is there?

You're either a giver or a taker.

The givers post things like "My sources tell me Sneijder is VERY close to a move - £33m". They have no sources, just access to their parents' computer.

Then the takers see this and hope that they can build up a bit of credibility by saying something like "I''m hearing that a deal has been agreed - close to £33m."

And round and round the circle jerk of Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime goes.

Fcuk, I hate evenings on the Caf when we sign someone!

The Sneijders need to fly from Ibiza to Manchester pretty soon. It's a shame about the riots though.

I really don't think that it is going to be an issue. You are reading too much into that.

This saga is amazing, it's like a non stop deja vu.

They aren't though. I'll be more enthuaistic if they had it on their website. Also, feck you WR8 for making me such an optimist about this.

Your transformation in this thread has been absolutely spectacular

hmm with all that cocks out talk, has anyone had tried to wank at player for real? i just printed a Sneijder photo , and going to toilet to do something.

If he actually signs you can gloat all you want, now I'm getting cold feet and becoming a pessimist again.:(

Another great manager (probably Mourinho) will succeed SAF, we will always be regarded as one of the worlds best clubs, were as City's spending will probably come to an end come to an end soon
