£33million seems to be quite a specific figure, not £30million or £35million. But again there is that word 'reportedly' which has been the bane of mt life this summer.

So I shall assume bullshit until otherwise.

I kinda wish the fee was reduced to around £30m but I don't give a feck right now. I just want him at United.

I'm a bit scared, I fear the football beginning has killed my inner muppet a bit.
I'm not really that excited about this.

Seeing Ando and Cleverley beat City has killed him :(

No no no! You can't say that! Its a long season with 50 odd games. It should be nice to have him in our team. He is in the top 5-7 midfielders in the world today. Come on, get back on the bandwagon!

If that's true, why are only BBC reporting this? Surely other medias like SSN would be all over this by now?

BBC > SSN in terms of credibility.

Still, I'll believe it when I see it, etc.

Who gives a flying feck about SSN? BBC is a much more reliable source in my opinion. SSN will report this tomorrow because they are always a day late, so don't worry.

Yeah seeing Cleverly really made me want to see more of him this year. Still in a long season I want 4 CMs I can count on.

Carrick, Fletcher, Ando, Cleverly, and Sneijder is five names, but truth be told with Fletch's virus, Ando's injury history, Sneijder settling, and Cleverly's youth, these five would probably be just about perfect!!

wr8 has been very quiet since this news broke

Same.

I'm not too sure about this character as it is. Now I've got newfound confidence in the young 'uns I don't really want someone coming in and pushing them down the pecking order.

They'll get enough time on the pitch regardless of Sneijder.
Don't worry bout Cleverley he'll get his fair amount of chances nevertheless.

Sneijder, when he comes, would give us pure quality+ another body in midfield.
There's nothing not to be excited about.

If sneijder makes a transfer request he risks losing out on 7million. (it's in the contract he signed last year)

elaborate please how giving in request cost a man 7 mln and what impact that would have on transfer negotiations.

It's gone too quiet and no website has these reports up :[

Well he would have broken his contract then? Thus activating the 7m clause. Impact on transfer negotiations, Sneijder would want his new club to cover that £7m clause.

I've never been on this bandwagon. I'm just not comfortable about us signing a player around 27-28 for enormous sums of money. The immediate pressure and hype on the player gets unbearable. And it's understandable as well.

I don't really want him.

Still doubt it will happen.

Yet I still can't help being really excited about this, I guess even us non-muppets are muppets deep inside.

BBC reporting that fee agreed now

500 post from you in this thread. and when it finally got real u managed to miss the news breaking by 3 hours. you do realize that everything you posted here all this time became a waste?

On the other hand I must admit that he is a hell of a player. Absolutely brilliant. For all the quality of Xavi and Iniesta, his pass should have put Holland a goal up in the final of the WC. Something he did in the CL to get the better of them as well I think.

After Cleverley's showing on Saturday, and thinking Berbatov was the second coming, I'm holding off getting excited.
