Wesley Sneijder

If we could get him for £15m and make him play for £2m a year it will be a great deal to be fair.

Seems like Moratti is confirming our interest now & 'Hopes' for Sniejder to stay - poor translation:

"Sneijder stays or goes? I make myself this question. I hope it stays. For the moment, not only as regards Sneijder seems to me there are many voices and little money: I do not There are new companies is on offer for Manchester United. A big blow came in? But never a big blow out, huh? Gasperini I think the group is satisfied that he is more eager and a good organization of the team that a great buy. " Somebody has already arrived, and Moratti is satisfied with the engagement: "The left me like Alvarez. It has features that can please the fans, but I think it will be useful to the game as it is able to occupy several positions in the field. It can do a little 'history of Inter, but to approach it Recoba is still treason ...". After the loan in January figure as well newly acquired Japanese Nagatomo: "We took it because it is good to love and was made up from day one. Getting better and believe we have signed a big deal."

I cant find a better phrase in describing two games in which were were present for around 20 minutes only.

It just cracks me up that instead of focusing on winning the CL, the PL four times and numerous other trophies, you instead focus on being "literally ridiculed" in two games. I'd love to know who you think hasn't been "literally ridiculed" in the past 5 years then, because apart from Barca, we've been easily the most successful team in the world in that period (and even then we aren't that far from barce)

I cant find a better phrase in describing our 'performance' against Barca.

What is your barca obsession? We should be strengthening cm regardless of them. Madrid spent shitloads on Alonso, Khedira, Ozil etc and still got humbled. There's no guarantee we're even going to face them next season

So you do agree that we were literally ridiculed by Barca don't you? Now you find people who think that winning the the league title in a place where players like Adams are considered top talent is tops. While others are happy to achieve what we did but see the CL as the real challenge. We do have a strong side but unless we sort the CM problem then we will end up Barca's bitches once again. I'll be surprised if we manage to beat other teams such as Real for example.

Seems fair

Tony Adams wasn't a bad player to be fair.

The most directly comparable Real Madrid-Barcelona game to ours is the Copa del Rey Final in which Madrid beat them. The games against Barca just illustrate how far we are away from the top of world football at the moment, even if we do continue to challenge in a weak Premier League.

There's no obsession at all. Barca is the benchmark. Now we either reach that level (which is not as high as one may think) or else we have to rely on luck. We all know what happened in the last CL final despite SAF's plan to keep Messi at bay and our team 'learning from our mistakes'

Bottom line of the story. We've got a great side and we can't ignore our CM problems again.

Well its all about the money! Inter wants €40, united wont pay that! Inter have bid on Pastore to replace him so must see how that plays out

I'll happily pay that much, if that's the only obstacle. Can't believe Gill and co. are such tight bastards.

true the 5-0 humbling was something special - i think its arguably the best club side performance i've seen....

at the same time and fair play to mourinho that despite his 'anit-football' they beat them in the copa del rey, drew in the league and i felt that they were unlucky in the Champions League when pepe got sent off - barcelona's playacting and harassing the referee that game was embarrassing

people forget that while we had a net spend of practically nothing the last few years Barca and Madrid have both spent really big

i agree with your main point - we need to address obvious deficiencies in the squad regardless of Barca or Accrington Stanley

What pisses me off is that we expect that big clubs handle their best talent to us on cheap while we sell our talent at 'market' value. You don't try and sign Sneijder unless you spend 40m on him. If you want value then you have to go for minor names or a fantastic bargain in Chicarito's mould.

BTW lets stop with this 'there are very few players around better then our CM'. We're talking about the likes of Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson and Gibson not Maradona, Zidane and Scholes. FFS a 37 yr old Giggs can send our boys on the bench

Wait, now the PL is weak and we are far away not only from Barca but also fecking Real Madrid? Jesus Christ.

Such a moronic thing to say. Did you actually watch "37 yr old Giggs" last season? He was immense at times.

You are a great example of how spoilt some of our supporters have become. We've just lifted our 19th title and got to three European finals in the last 4 years, yet you focus on the rare low points. We were outplayed by Barca, and they are certainly the benchmark, no-one is arguing with that. But they are the best team we've faced in the Fergie era and they could do that to anyone.

These aren't just golden years, they're the best years in our history, it's about time some people learned that.

The whole Sneijder-saga will end with Wesley retiring from football to run a Scientology community in Utrecht. And if he doesn't - I ll claim that he planned to do it - but pulled out in the last second (just like any good ITK would explain why he was wrong :)

Wait, now the PL is weak and we are far away not only from Barca but also fecking Real Madrid? Jesus Christ.

Weak by the standards of a few years ago, yes, we used to regularly have several teams in the last 4 of the Champions League, the last 2 years we have had one. Chelsea, Liverpool and ourselves are significantly below the standards we were at in 2008 and 2009, and Arsenal aren't exactly a mighty force.

Interesting comments from Moratti.

Moratti: "at the moment there are a lot of rumours and not a lot of money"

I am talking about the pie eater signed by Liverpool. He's good in corners and freekicks.

Exactly the stupid viewpoint I expect from you. We've won a league where Adams is a top player? What a league where Adams has just moved to the sixth best team in the league? How is he considered a top player? How does that reflect on what is generally considered the best league in the world?

You're absolutely deluded. You haven't got a clue if we're after Sneijder or not. No-one has. Yet you somehow think we're not offering enough and it's our fault. None of us have got a clue how much he's on, how much he wants, how much Inter want, if United want him.

And another point, there isn't many players who can come in and improve our midfield. We have just won the record title and got to the CL. No-one in the CL can match us bar Barce (and perhaps Madrid) yet apparently we've not got a world class centre mid.

Giggs is 37? So what? Do we just break him down for glue and cat food now? He still got massively important assits, including a great one against Barca in the CL final.

We get Sneijder or we don't. He might improve us, he might make us worse. He might be cheap, he might break our wage structure. One things for certain, he's not the be all and end all you make him out to be.

What the feck are you talking about? We pay top dollar for our targets, and we usually sell players on cheap when they ask for a move.

Sorry I know I've already replied, but honestly I just come back and read this quote, and can honestly say it's the stupidest/most spoilt post I've ever seen on this forum.

I can't believe how demeaning and belittling you are to fans who are happy United won the Premier League. It's crazy.

Why the feck has this thread turned into a Barcelona ******** thread again?
