Wesley Sneijder

To get the media attention off him a bit and to stop other big clubs gazumping us. We always do our transfer business quietly.

Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur would disagree.

Quietly is one thing, rejecting everything, even Gill being in Milan is another altogether. Did we ever do it when we were linked with De Gea? Claims were being made left right and centre, yet we refused to comment on it, rather than outright reject it. Also I would be willing to wager that no other club this summer is in for Sneijder at the price he's for sale at.

Didn't Fergie say to a journalist 'We'll have to wait and see what happens there' when asked about Sneijder?

He said there is nothing in the rumours that the transfer is already a done deal. That's all.

There was a lot of confusion with that quote. Some journos at that press conference (it was the one when we landed in the states IIRC) said Sneijder wasn't even mentioned.

That was a quote from some Norwegian paper and I doubt it was even said tbh.

Why is there no journalist capable of accurately reporting a bleedin' quote.

Sneijder's mine. I've signed him for my own personal team. We play every Tuesday between 7-8pm at the local university's astroturf pitch. Sneijder makes me laugh when he does his impression of a porpoise.

Accuracy doesn't sell copy.

But why!?

I decided to embark on the muppetness yesterday. It was concluded Gill was in Zurich for some meeting.

Anything since then? (please no tweets as sources from goal.com's chief executive)

The story was published at united.no and as the official norwegian supporter club, its no bullshit quotes from them. If it was a rumour, they would have stated it clearly. So the quotes are probably right.

Am I the only one who doesn't want us to spend £35m+ on a 27 year old player?

Video Home - ESPN Soccernet

The video of the interview - the part related to Sneijder.

The bit at the end where he says United have to answer questions about speculation without adding insult to any particular club or player. Cuts both ways - could mean we aren't interested in a player that says we are in for him (like the guy from Celtic a few weeks back) but, don't want to laugh them off. Same goes for if we are in for someone but, are still working on details and want to do it privately and don't want to put pressure on the other club.

That's the beauty of how it's done, the same happened with Berbatov, with only that one source reporting it it can also be put down to a mistranslation if questioned on it.

That doesn't bother me, it's who the 27 year old is that does.

this is getting riciculous. I keep looking at the thread thinking there are updates when it is just the same fecking idiots saying unfunny things

The vast majority of you are spastics

Was about to gloat thinking I had under 10 posts. But 27??? I remember none of them

Jenas is available

He looks like a paedo

There is a market for everything.

Poor retards

:(

Well thats me convinced

Hellboy does not want

feck it, I dont want him anymore now.

Everyone back to the Nasri thread. Nothing to see here

makes sense

I agree. This is just impossible to follow now and is going the same way as the Ozil thread.

:)

Holy feck

I know! Damn Fergie and his transfer policy. Does he know we can't be as good as Barca now? ZOMFG£$%^&*&^%$%^&*(*&^%$%^&!!!!

Not often I agree with you but this is spot on.

The off to the Nasri thread jokes was funny for the first few times, not anymore.

I want this deal to be finalized quickly or else-

blooddiamond.gif

There's absolutely nothing at all into that

There's absolutely nothing at all into that

Get your dirty hands off him.

Hey he is mine. I posted it first in this thread.

It gets better

Is it safe to get your cocks out?

Are you sure you're not talking about Martin Samuels here?

I think you've got them mixed up,

And then..

You've 40 posts in this thread, basically saying the same thing.

Appreciate that you don't think it's gonna happen, but what's need of pointing again and again. Just stay away from this thread, FFS.

Hooray!
We're signing him
Man Utd eye record £35m Wesley Sneijder deal | The Sun |Sport|Football

Nobody needs to tell that i'm clutching at straws :wenger:

Being an optimist that I'm. I think this deal will happen.

There was a fecking reason that Gibson was left home and didn't went to US tour.

I think it's gonna happen/

I'm an optimist and besides the quote aren't right. I know I'll be a laughing stock on here if we don't Sneijder as I've been so aggressively reacting to this, but I genuinely believe that we're gonna sign him.

I like how some posters come into every transfer thread and start sprouting their bollocks that we won't sign anymore etc etc. Fair enough, if that's your opinion but no need to post it in every thread.

There are four people with more posts in this thread than you.

Aren't there better thread topics these days....surely the CE forum should boom during the off season. There are plenty of topics to discuss...

Instead 80% of the cafe just furiously masturbates while hitting F5 in the transfer forum...

The thing is I know most of you posters are adults...

I'll fecking believe the rumours when I see pics of Gill in Milan, or Sniejder at the Blackwater Clinic in Manchester.

Guys the same shite happened with Nasri last week, i.e paper talk, the club in question denying it. feck the hype, I doubt it will happen.

I fecking hate the transfer window, this won't happen.

How the hell am I trolling? I'm just refuting everything because I'm not a muppet. United even went as far as to even reject the notion that Gill was talking to any inter representatives. Why would we do that?

There is no evidence that we've been interested at all...Every thing has been rejected by all sides. Just accept it and move on.

SAF on the Sneijder story to ESPN press pass:

"Well, I keep reading about this. There's absolutely nothing at all into that. I don't think Inter are prepared to sell him. You get speculation every week and we have to answer these for some reason without trying to insult clubs or embarass players, there's nothing we can do about it."

Yes we've totally made a bid.

I don't believe he said "we'll see" at all. There was no evidence he said it, just some guy on here claiming he knew the Norwegian journalist who conducted it.

Tip. If wr8 says a deal is done, the opposite is true.

Where are the cnuts with their ITK friends now?

Well done Nimic. I wasn't commenting on the large no. of post that Lynk in this thread. The issue I've is that he kept on commenting that this transfer isn't gonna happen, and yet kept on posting in this.

It would help if you read properly what I said.

Edit: Btw I think I've posted the great amounts of articles and news regarding the topic in this thread. Pointing out the only post in which I've posted a GIF is a great way of proving your point.

Am I the only one who doesn't want us to spend £35m+ on a 27 year old player?

I think we really, really, really need a Sneijder-type player and that a signing like could make a huge difference for the great players we have everywhere else in the team - worth in total a lot more money. I also think a lack of a player like that could cause great damage to the same class players.

So while I wouldn't say such an expenditure a classic situations, sometimes it's needed. We've failed to take care of the midfielder in the cheaper way over the last couple of years. Now we may have to pay big, and not that much long term, in order to stay ahead of our competition.

Doesnt mean we have to act like adults tho... there's plenty of occasions throughout the day when the adult hat is on, this is funtime - havin the craic & there's feck all wrong with that..

I beg to you to find me a poster on here that doesnt get excited about the prospect of signing new players. Why would we be stuck in the CE forum chronically gettin told there is no God in nearly every thread, when we can have a bitta craic on here about the possibility of us gettin Wesley Sneijder of Utrecht!

Am I the only one who doesn't want us to spend £35m+ on a 27 year old player?

No, but you're probably in the minority.

Most of our signings in recent years have been develop-and-nurture types where we sign unproven players with heaps of potential, and then patiently mould them into United players.

However this time we're after someone who can slot in and make an immediate impression, trying to replace one of the finest English midfielders to grace the game in the last 20 years or so. Sneidjer at 27 is a world class player at his peak and would hence be an ideal replacement. His fee and wages are unfortunately the baggage that comes with trying to sign one of the most pretigous players on the planet.

If he'll just report that goal.com thinks we've agreed a fee or that Fergie has ruled out a move I'll go on a killing spree.

I am disappointed by the number of empty threats in this thread. If everybody went through with their promises, we'd ahve had 27 suicides and 19 massacres so far.

Lets say there is truth to the stories that we are willing to stump 35m and 170k a week for Wesley but, the personal terms seem to be the sticking point. If we are willing to pay that much for him then why not make similar bid for Nasri or Modric.

What we maybe lose out in Wesley's experience part of it can be made up by either of those experience in the league and being younger.

Am sure there is more to it than I see and perhaps the Dutchman is our #1 target but, I don't think there is that much between the 3 to where we at least don't make a play for the other options which could potentially be cheaper and as effective.

Ive been on a killing spree but Im in new Zealand and nobody gives a feck about what happens down here so it wont have made your news, 37 hacked to bits btw

I'm pretty sure we've at the very least enquired about the other two.

Modric has already stated his desire to remain in London and is trying to engineer a move to Chelsea as we speak. Nasri for all we know might have already decided to opt for Shitty's millions already, judging by SAF's comments.

Sneidjer recently seems to be the more attainable signing, despite Inter's supposed reluctance.

But you've gone on record a number of times that you think we will sign him. The only difference is that you and Lynk have different opinions. But each of you have stated your belief around the same number of times. I'm not saying who's right or wrong here. Just pointing out the similarity.

I hope Howard Nurse can run fast, everyone is sharpening their knives.
