Rene Meneustein says we want him, he must know something.

I Googled Meneustein. Found this.

With Modric having put in a transfer request and Chelski having bid 'only' £27M, why aren't we all in that thread trying to talk that one up again?

I'm sure they'd be more inclined to sell to us than the Chavs, we always pay them over the odds...

Because the player has said he wants to stay in London and move to Chelsea.

this is getting riciculous. I keep looking at the thread thinking there are updates when it is just the same fecking idiots saying unfunny things

The vast majority of you are spastics

Not often I agree with you but this is spot on.

The off to the Nasri thread jokes was funny for the first few times, not anymore.

ARD (German TV channel) now quoting the Daily Mirror. 40 million € transfer fee and 11 million € per year. They make it sound like it's a done deal.

Old news I guess?

Worth pointing out that Italian's largest TV network(RAI) also said today that Sneijder deal is done for 40mil Euros.

It ain't over till it's over.

100% agreed. This is getting tedious now, 5 pages of updates and not one of them on any sort of development.

I agree. This is just impossible to follow now and is going the same way as the Ozil thread.

It's funny how many people are writing off this transfer because of Ferguson's words.

"I keep reading about this, there's absolutely nothing at all to that,"

Since when has Ferguson ever tried to stoke the flames of a potential transfer? If this is happening, the very fact it has been so public will be really grinding Ferguson's gears. Why is it public? Because of the typical ambiguity in the Italian Club Presidents words.

"First of all I don't think Inter are prepared to sell him anyway"

That to me sounds like we've made contact.

Now the thing is, Ferguson hasn't said at all "We are not trying to buy Sneijder". He was asked about claims that it was virtually a done deal to which he replied "I keep reading about this, there's absolutely nothing at all to that,". Which is probably very true. The rumblings are that we are in negotiations with Inter and his further words seems to make sense with that too.

"Why? I don’t know, and we have to find a way to answer without insulting a particular club or embarrassing any particular player. We just let it happen. There’s nothing we can do about it.”

Ferguson doesn't want to go down the Madrid route of claiming they have nearly signed a player that they are only negotiating for. It's arrogant and it upsets the club and often the player.

Bah I may be way off the cards but I'm not ruling this out at all. We don't do business publically and Ferguson is trying to throw a bit of cold water on the flames so they can do business quietly behind closed doors.

Ferguson has played down reports deal for Sneijder is imminent but there are even more claims today that deal could be struck by the weekend

There is no evidence that we've been interested at all...Every thing has been rejected by all sides. Just accept it and move on.

"it is understood"

"There are claims"

"It has been heard"

"we have been led to believe"

"reports claim"

Just feck off journos. No quotes, no evidence.

Why do you keep coming back to this thread?

fecking yes!!!

All we need is Graeme to get his bosses to run the story on SSN then it's cock out time.

No actual evidence but I'm fairly sure we've made moves for both Nasri and Sneijder. Getting them is a different matter, granted.

Why don't you troll somewhere else?

How the hell am I trolling? I'm just refuting everything because I'm not a muppet. United even went as far as to even reject the notion that Gill was talking to any inter representatives. Why would we do that?

To get the media attention off him a bit and to stop other big clubs gazumping us. We always do our transfer business quietly.

Quietly is one thing, rejecting everything, even Gill being in Milan is another altogether. Did we ever do it when we were linked with De Gea? Claims were being made left right and centre, yet we refused to comment on it, rather than outright reject it. Also I would be willing to wager that no other club this summer is in for Sneijder at the price he's for sale at.
