There are reports that Manchester United chief executive David Gill is in Italy to negotiate a €39m bid for Inter’s Wesley Sneijder.
On Tuesday Nerazzurri technical director Marco Branca declared Sneijder was “not for sale,” but the rumours of a successful swoop continue.

According to Goal.com, Gill has flown into Milan this week to begin advanced negotiations.

There are even suggestions the Manchester United emissaries have been in Italy since yesterday and are already closing on a deal.

It is widely believed the price-tag is €39m, approximately £37m, will be met by the Old Trafford side.

Sneijder’s departure could even be welcomed by new Coach Gian Piero Gasperini, whose 3-4-3 system would require the Dutchman’s change of position.

It's bollocks. Gill is in Zurich.

Has posting a picture of kermit ever been funny since the first time it happened on the Caf in about 2001?

No. It's as funny as people spreading made up rumours, and aids. We can aldo add, cocks out?, to the list too.

According to him an agreement could be reached if United offer Inter 25-30 million euros and agree terms with Sneijder. Nothing new...but look at the fee...

He also says that United is the only club which Sneijder would leave Inter to go to...

Prove he is in Milan. Why would anyone lie about him having a meeting with European executives?

will do...

The Star started this rumour about Gill being in Milan, I'll believe it when I see pics tbh.

Twitter has ruined the transfer period really. Journalists are allowed to just completely fabricate stories with no repercussion and everyone just takes it for gospel. I know that they often make up stories in the paper, but I think they've created a whole saga here that probably isn't even happening.

On the contrary, I think Twitter has made the transfer window awesome. Just type a name of a footballer into the search engine and hundreds of results just pop and feed your inner muppet, awesome.

For a meeting. A meeting that could take half an hour, an hour, four hours or even 10 hours. Anyway, all he'd need is 3 hours to then get to milan and he'd still have plenty of hours in the day to get negotiations under way.

You need to BELIEVE!

It's like the moment you first discovered there was porn on the internet.

I will expose myself to the ridicule of social scientists and say it has raised the happiness levels of society.

Perhaps we'll learn something if Sneijder plays - or does not play - in this match tomorrow:

'Inter's first friendly fixture of the 2011/12 pre-season will be played in Pinzolo against Trentino Team, kicking off at 17:00.'

Just when these days are dragging on and you cant take the torture anymore, then watch the mastro at work. It will hurt more that you will start yelling 'gill, fecking get the deal done will ya'!

By the way, 1:36s great goal. :D

Gill opted for a cunning disguise in order to avoid being spotted in Milan...

... but there was much confusion upon meeting the head of the Inter delegation.

Yeah, heard on the radio that United have sent a delegation to Inter to get the deal done today. This one is actually starting to look like it's gonna happen.

Is this thread as bas as the Benzema one yet ?

If the cycle is going to repeat then within two weeks he will move somewhere else and Ferguson will declare that he is happy with the squad.

Gabrielle Marcotti didn't seem too convinced there on ESPN. He normally has a fair idea when it comes to Italian transfers.

Does this mean I can be a muppet? I want to be a muppet! Please allow me to join your ranks!
