Weird feelings of football

The premier league will never be as advanced tactically as countries like Italy, Spain And Portugal despite the fact we have all the best managers from Italy, Spain And Portugal.

Your average football fan outside europe had never heard of Kepa Arizzabalaga, Virgil
Van Dyke or Killian Mbappe when they became the world record transfers for players in their positions.

Yeah it makes no sense. Best coaches, most money, some of the best players, still tactically outclassed regularly in Europe

We're starting to see a shift IMO. Liverpool reaching the final is the evidence. I'm quite sure English teams will put in better performances in the coming years.

I’ll be honest, had no idea who Kepa was before the rumors although I don’t follow other leagues as much as I did when I was younger. Learned about M’bappe after the City match ups in 2017. With Van Dijk, back then I fet like he was one of those usual PL defender journey men, never thought he would command a world record fee or something.

Every time you look at your teams next five fixtures and think the are easy your team drops points. Conversely, every time you look at your hated rivals fixture list and think they are in for a hard time they win them all.

Every time Ipswich play Norwich, Grant Holt either scores or gets injured.
What? A Norwich-Ipswich game involving Grant Holt only took place about twice and the last time must have been over 7 years ago.

Phil Bardsley is like Incrediboy. Ignored and discarded at a young age, he's made it his life's mission to make life annoying for United.

Jose Mourinho is a tactical genius who is unable to coach; a svelte European operator who flusters easily.

And I posted this before the Rashford incident!

Glenn Murray scores in every game yet somehow only ends every season with eight goals.

Not really a weird feeling per se, but there are few things more dispiriting than a Lukaku thumbs up.

Every time United get awarded a penalty in an away game it is cancelled out by getting a penalty awarded against us or one of our players being sent off during the same game.

Gareth Bale is a life long Man United fan who has always wanted to play for us and we want to sign him but despite this the transfer will never actually happen.

Atletico Madrid have many top players but no one knows anything about them.

We always lose against at least one newly promoted/relegation struggling team away from home every year.

Every time a team gets thrashed (4/5/6-0 etc); the losing goalkeeper always has a good game; making countless saves and comes out the game with their head held high.

Gabi basically emerged out of nowhere. No one knew about his existence before Atletico or who he played for.

Everyone scores on their debut against United.
And then proceeds to fail to score in the next 5 to 10 games
Also anyone on a goal scoring drought seems to score against United
Everyone who scores their first goal for their club will be against United

Maybe slightly going in another direction with this. But here goes...

Liverpool were invincible in the 80s. They actually finished 5th in 1980-81.

Alex Ferguson's first few years were a disaster at Utd. In fact he only had one bad season, his second full season, 1988-89. His first full season Utd finished 2nd (1987-88) and his third he won the FA cup (1989-90).

Phil Neville will be remembered as red. He played more games for Everton.

Micheal Owen actually scored in a major cup final for Utd. (League Cup 2010).

Mo Salah played the whole game for Chelsea against Liverpool in that game Gerard slipped .
