Weird feelings of football

Dejan Lovren looks world class every time I see him play. All his blunders seem to occur when I don't watch him.

Javi Garcia was just playing for Madrid and City a few years ago, potentially becoming a top midfielder. Now he manages Watford.

Pundits will make a big deal out of Fellaini every time he has a solid game even though he’s been solid for about 4 years.

There's about 4 or 5 dembeles who are the next big thing in football.

Every time a free-kick shows Messi's face beforehand he scores.

Sanchez retired in January and instead we got some impostor playing for us.

United signing a player that most of their fans wanted is a guarantee that the player in question will flop

Porto are always in the weak CL group.

There is a reson for that. They used to have a very good ranking because of their Europa League win and now the winner of Portuguese league is always in Pot 1. Also TV restrictions for big leagues produce monster groups which could be evaded without those rules. Dortmund and Real met many times in CL group stages and that is because if Bayern and Real are in different group brackets, then Dortmund has like a 50% chance of meeting Real.

I feel like this is going to be our most successful season post Ferguson. So winning either/ both PL and CL.

If Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos played up front for Chelsea they would score at least twice as many goals as Giroud and Morata.

The England manager will never make any decisions himself but will simply mirror what the top clubs and top managers are doing. e.g shortly after Van Gaal makes Rooney the Man Utd captain he then bocomes the England captain. When Mourinho decides Rooney is no longer good enough he loses his place in the England team. No England manager would make that decision 12 months earlier even though he was playing badly. Same with Joe Hart at City, as soon as Pep decides he's not good enough then he's not good enough for England.

There is no preference for any particular players. If for example Shaw is the regular left back for United he will start for England, If the regular starter is Young then he will start for England.

Haha - I actually thought the same thing, thinking ‘he can’t be that old’ then anytime a commentator said ‘Gracia’ that they were mispronouncing his name!

Every time, just before the team we are playing, starts to hit form. Every time Liverpool are going to play a team, they have a dip in form.

Don’t forget Southgate introducing 3 at the back for England around the time when Conte’s Chelsea were winning the league with that formation.

he introduced it last season after the qualifiers when City were running away from everyone

A lot of this sort of makes sense in that international managers are typically going to want to pick players who are playing regularly at club level, and will be hesitant to opt for players who haven't been featuring a lot.

Sanchez would score tons in any other PL team. Him being dross has everything to do with the way the team plays. Don't believe for a second that he is done.

Young pacey forwards never maximize their potential due to injuries.

No matter how much a team wastes time, 5 minutes is the maximum a referee will add on at the end.

Our cup draws each year are determined solely by David Nugent. If he plays for them, we will draw them.
