fecking awful, his inability to control the ball in tight spaces is so blatant. The sooner we drop him the better, he's not a good #10 or midfielder. Feel Mkhitaryan or Mata are more suitable.

Don't care that it's the Community shield but this has been a problem for a long time now.

Am I watching a different game?!

I thought he was alright individually. My only concern is if he fits in the team or not in that role.

And you say people have agenda here, incredible.

Has anybody called him shit yet? He's proper shit isn't he. The least I expect for 300k a week is a first touch.

How many matches does Mourinho give him until he relegates him into retirement? Every move we have that goes through him breaks down. He is the albatross around our necks.

He's definitely stopping the team hitting its maximum potential. Why can't some people see this!!!

He can't control even the most basic of balls. His short passing is somehow worse than his long passing. He's lost possesion 7x from what I remember. A couple led to chances for Leicester

Sick to death of him getting time over the likes of miki and Mata who are much better, more effective players.
Some of us see it, but it's up to the manager to do something. Anyway, let's hope he improves somehow. All we fans can do is hope, because the manager(s) all don't want to drop him.

I think this season could be a really tragic end to his United career. Mourinho has total faith in him but he just doesn't have the quality any more to live up to those expectations. Not sure he has the quality to break the record either. So he might end up leaving next summer having failed to impress a manager who gave him every chance to succeed and within a few goals of one of the biggest personal achievements he could ever have hoped for.

Come on he's not thaaat bad, surely an odd scruffy/deflected goal here or there, and he could just about manage to drag himself past the mark - it's only 5 goals after all. Unless of course, he gets dropped which he damn well should be based on his performance levels - something tells me he won't though, at least not in the near future.

Add Lingard to the growing list of players I'd rather see at no.10 than Rooney.

He's a multi-millionaire who's seen it all and has nothing left to prove, and it shows. We need hungry players on the up. He looks like he's been coasting since Moyes and Woodward inexplicably gave him that 5 year contract.

When he has the ball it seems more likely to result in an attack for Leicester than for us.

Can't pass in awkward situations nor can he trap a ball in a tight spot. I hope this is just because its pre-season and he's a bit rusty.

Yeah, the last few years have been giving a lot of backing to that hope. Gone so far that it makes my blood boil to see him in a United shirt now. It seems the only reason to keep him in the team is from a purely business perspective. And we will continue to be shit until the hierarchy manages to stop that strategy.

I'm fecking sick about complaining. But it can't be helped when he keeps starting every fecking game.
Don't his fanboys understand the problem. Any other player that turns out shite like this, gets dropped. Yet we constantly have to hear excuses why he should play.
Fecking sick of it.

He's really, really bad. He's shite. He's dog dirt. He's a blizzard of balls.

Nah, he will break the record already before Christmas, we are going to play against poor opposition, espcially in the cups. The. question is whether he is going to cost us in the league which is not a minor issue at all.

Perhaps Jose is the manager to have the balls to drop him. If not, then it's blatently obvious Rooney has his own PI firm that has dirt on every manager who takes over at OT to ensure he plays every week.

His performances in pre-season have been shit & he's shit today too. Should be dropped.

Number 10 needs first touch, vision, and creativity.. and we all know rooney has lost those things

Rooney really needs to fix his first touch and general control of the Football

Performance today of a 35-40 year old. Sluggish movement, poor touch and seemingly just relying on instincts instead of picking his passes.

Talksport had a few journalists on earlier who suspected that Jose might give Rooney just enough rope to hang himself.

Im not on the "Rooney is the devil" squad, but Mata seems a clear upgrade at that position for me.

Mourinho knows the lad is finished. Jose has studied every game we played last season, he's likely analysed us to some depth and there's no way he can't see what a weak link Rooney is. He can't just dump Rooney though, he's captain and star man in terms of marketing. He has too much power. He'll be phased out gradually I'm certain of that. Wayne will have to admit it's for the good of the team and he may be happy for it to happen after the goal scoring record is gone.

His camp on here will need to be extra creative today with their excuses.

He appears to tiring badly this half, so it's probably going to get worse.

Nah, he only needs couple of goals I think, he will break the record, IMO.

Even for his low standards, he's been exceptionally poor today. Passing, shooting and touch all non-existent

I think the Jose will allow him to break the goal record before beginning to phase him out.

We have Mata and Mkhitaryan but Rooney is the one on the pitch. It's unbelievable.
