Playing mind games with Guardiola over whether Rooney plays next week? Does anyone think it makes any difference whatsoever to Bayern whether he plays or not. I think its just an accurate description of whats going on.
He isn't playing tomorrow, probably shouldn't have anyway, and may or may not be okay for Wednesday.

I'm here hoping it's just a bit of mind games and he always going to rest him. If not I will reduce our chances from 35% to 10% as I think Moyes will bring in Young.

Don't think he will miss the Bayern game, the biggest game in the season due to a bruised toe. Unless the club is lying and its a cover up for a more severe injury, then expect him to start vs Bayern.

Bruised toe is more the symptom than the problem. If it's a stress fracture then he'll be out for 2 weeks minimum probably longer.

Either way when Rooney plays while carrying any kind of injury or if he's just recovered form one, he tends to be awful which is worrying.

This toe injury, do we know how it occurred ? I'm seeing Bastian getting mentioned but I don't know if it's as a joke or caftards being serious.
It's probably nothing and moyes covering himself in case we lose tomorrow while resting key players, so this way he just says they're out and didn't have the option. Otherwise if we drop points again people would question why not pick a stronger team to get the win.

Shit news after shit news. What a freaking shitty shit of a season.

Big loss if he is out of the Bayern game. On top of all his striking ability & work rate, Rooney is our best best bet from set-pieces, from where we'll present the biggest threat to Bayern. I hope we can pump him with enough pain killers to get him ready for those 90 minutes. Without him we have a lesser chance than previously.

I hope it's the case and it would mean Moyes is learning to play the "media game".

I seriously don't see why Moyes would be playing Mind games with Guardiola to be honest, if that's the case then Moyes isn't very bright at all. With Rooney or without him won't change how Guardiola will approach the game so I don't the point of this all mind game. And if it for excusing against the NC game, I'm sure many people were expecting him to be rested anyway, so again don't see the point of mind games here.

I think what Moyes said is true but we rather believe that it's mind game because we don't want Rooney out for the Bayern Game. It may be a case of denial on our part.

"May be doubtful."

Tautology right there. He'll be fit - United are just looking for a reason to rest him without a fall-out if you lose tomorrow. No big deal.

Obviously this.

Didn't we pull that trick last time we played Bayern?

Rooney injured late in that game missed the next league game (Chelsea) only to make a shocking comeback against Bayern, in which we stormed them first half to a 3-0 lead. All in a World Cup year where his United future for some time was up in the air.

It's fate, we're going to the semi finals!

The only way I know if there's a major international tournament coming up is if Rooney gets a foot injury in April.

It was ridiculous though, Rooney was walking around the pitch clearly injured from minute 1.

Considering we had thread about playing better without van Persie because we played good half an hour against WBA, I think it's fair we open the same thread about Rooney too.

Wayne Rooney - Player of the Month (March)

Back up again. There were lots of things missing - control against Aston Villa, passes against Manchester City, Liverpool, etc., but I couldn't include all of them as the video would be too long. This is probably his best month for consistency since December. Obviously he's had to play games out of position (in midfield), but he could have done more at the same time.

All quite correct.

Although of course to follow the comparison through, we should storm into a seeming unassailable lead in Munich only to crumble in a mess of indiscipline and bad fortune to a tragic defeat.

Rooney was so good, he even made the suns team of the week without playing yesterday due to his Toe injury

If Welbeck blew that chance like that some people would want to get rid of him. Really should have passed there or at least shoot earlier.

Saying that, I am not sure he looks too fit.

It'll be typical of David Moyes to keep him on for the whole game.

He's always been crap when he's returning from injury or when he isn't 100%.

No idea why managers continue to pick him in these situations.

Oh he's been injured for a week? Suppose we'll have to wait another four months until we see a half decent performance again.

Where are those people yesterday who said he was world class? He has too many of these games to be that. He has probably cost us the tie. There are probably lads in the Championship who'd have put away that second chance.

Ferguson bought RVP and Kagawa last season for a good reason.

There is always this fuss about getting this waster fit in time for this and that big game as if he is Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, but what he usually shows in those big games is pub level football quality and even becomes as bad as being a -1 factor fecking up huge chances.

Again, over two legs against a big european opponent, Rooney was destroying counter attacks and missing chances that could have won us the tie.

300k per week. A terrifying hilarity.

Golden boy has got this club and manager right where he wants them. There is no way he should be on the pitch right now.

He was exhilarating without carrying an injury in the home game. He is simply rubbish in big European games with 1 or 2 exceptions in 10 maybe.

He has played Moyes all season long, the fact that we've got an utter stooge who puts up with his shit in charge just makes it worse.

It was an awful performance from him tonight but it was clear this was to happen. Not sure why he started, he's clearly not fully fit in the slightest.
