Unless Barcelona are completely out of their minds (current evidence supports this tbf...) only plausible explanation is financially motivated on Barca's end.

Now, hear me out. Is this because they can assign a higher fee on the books for a player involved in a partial swap fee that would help them out with FFP?
Is that possible? Oh United bid, say 60m plus AWB for FDJ who we value at 60m so it’s a 120m deal?

We've already agreed a deal so I wouldn't say so. It's more likely that Romero is talking shite as usual.

The thing is, they arent going to offer a transfer fee. Theyl ask for a loan which is pointless

Yes but it allows us to lower our fee which frees up immediate funds badly needed elsewhere and Barca can wash some of that laundered money that failed La Ligas FFP inspection through AWB.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s framed as adding him on to pay for the deferred wages to the already agreed fee or some shit.
But yes, I agree it’s more than likely bullshit

Someone on their board is leaking this shit for a laugh. So they’re interested in AWB, Dalot and Maguire?

Bissaka starting for Barcelona alongside Lewandowski, who could have imagined that

Wan Bissaka playing for Barcelona is about as good of a match as Dennis Bergkamp playing for Tony Pulis’s Stoke.

Good thing poor old Johan Cruyff is not here to see Wan-Bissaka play for Barcelona. What’s the opposite of total football?

Funny. 24 months ago, we called him Wall Bissaka.
He's still brilliant at marking a dribbler. When we counter attacked only his lack of paint didn't show.

Then they discovered he can't read a ball in the air to save his life and it was over.

If he signed for Barca, how long until Mes Que Un Cafe makes the “Could we play AWB as a defensive midfielder” thread?

I think if he leaves he will do well somewhere, all these players that arrive and end up going on a downward curve is to do with the club, not ability at all. There is something inherently wrong with the football club, my guess is the board interfering with the selections and captains etc. Because none of these players are as bad as they keep showing, and you can’t tell me one of the managers we’ve had should have realised that Maguire Shaw mctominay rash ford weren’t cutting the mustard. Badly ran club with player power, but they aren’t as bad as they’re playing it’s a toxic mix

If Barca only watched a YouTube video of his highlights, I could see why they might be conned into buying him. Like De Gea, you can make him look world class with the right editing.

If anyone watches his lowlights, he’ll be here until his contract expires.

None of the players who have left us have gone on to do better things elsewhere.

When Sergiño Dest was transferred from Ajax to Barcelona Ajax sold the IOU on to an external debt collector for a fee (2-400K if rumours are true). At that point it's no longer your concern whether or not they meet their payment obligations and you get the money in hand straight away.

I'd never close a deal with such a club that involves multiple instalments. Ajax has had a policy about bank guarantees being required for clubs from certain leagues as well for quite some times now because of refusals/inability to pay instalments in the past. Just too much risk with a club with such a ... creative attitude towards paying what they owe. If they're prepared to go to war with their own players you can bet that getting instalments paid won't be a guarantee either.

Unpopular opinion : He's better than Dalot.
I think he's better purely at defending. everything else they're on par or AWB is worse.
But if a defender's main duty is to defend, I'd stick with AWB and instruct him not to attack.

Really?

They are both just differently but also somewhat equally shite in many aspects of being a fullback - defensively and offensively..

Dalot is just less shite with the ball at his feet, that is all.

AWB at least has some aspects of his game that are very good - even though his ability on the ball is limited. I like Dalot's attitude but he doesn't really do anything well. I'd definitely opt for AWB over Dalot on Monday vs Diaz / Salah
