vs Middlesboro

Having the match recorded at home. Thought I could last the whole day without knowing the score. So much for that... :D

just saw the "Roy Keane adored in Manchester" banner.

Don't you love it when you are trying to stay away from seeing the score then you break and see were leading ? ;)

It's not much of a relief these days though, especially 1 goal leads. Get happy and nervous at the same time, hard to explain.

Giggs...another lacklustre display so far...what is it?...18 of his last 19 Premiership goals away from home!..Ryan shoots wide yet again...

Doesn't seem to spend much time on the bench tho.

Give it a rest! Granted, he wasn't great, but he's the difference between the sides. His flick set up ruud for the foul and penalty and two moments of brilliance from Giggs could have brought two goals but went just wide.

Enough with the f*ck*ng giggs bashing!

Giggs actually played better than in his other matches so far this season. He actually started to make some runs again...

Why?

Last year Becks was dropped for EIGHT games because he wasn't performing.

Fine. On today's account, all midfielders and strikers should be dropped.

But at least Giggs is the best of a rather disappointing bunch.

I'm just sick of watching the game, then hearing people choosing to complain on Giggs. It probably would have been 0-0 without him.

Giggs has been one of our better performers today and he has scored a couple of important goals for us already this season. He has qualities that no other member of the team has and that's his pace and dribbling. We need him.

Give it a rest FFS.

Well should we just close the forum for a while then, until the team picks up?

Agreed Livie, I think giggs needs to be dropped he is under performing. Maybe he should aim wide of the goal. He would no doubt come back better for it. I hope he makes me eat my words after tonight. But I do not think so. Come on United.

Don't count on Giggs getting dropped until we have another genuine left-sided midfielder.

He has had 2 superb shots at goal today. If the first one would've gone in it would've been one of the best goals I've seen in the last few years. He missed by a couple of inches. Stop being pedantic and stop looking for cnuting scape-goats.

Giggs?.....If the guy knew where the goal was he'd be not far short of the best player in the world...still seems odd that he hardly ever scores at OT though.

Sometimes even the best players need a kick up the backside.

Why?I thought Giggs played OK in the first half. Starting to make some good run. Would have scored 2 if not for a few inches wide!

Great..

So with our most important midfielder out you want us to drop our probably 2nd most important midfielder because he's missed the goal by 2 inches, even though he created our goal/best chances so far today and has come up with the important goals for us so far this season..

I see your point mate...

Thats just it "a few inches wide" nearly never won a race. He needs to improve his shooting then he would be a phenomenon. Come on Giggsy.

Ryan is 28. He's not going to suddenly become a shrap-shooter striker. You just have to accept him the way he is. And the way he is, is potentially match winning/

O.K I am not lucky enough to be able to watch the match but he has really had a dramatic drop in form recently especially as far as his shooting is concerned and I will be delighted when he gets back to his best.

For pete's sake Roy, we are allowed to voice our opinion aren't we?

If we're keeping Giggsy in the side in the hope of a few minutes of genius, then fine. I just think that generally his play for quite a long while now has not been consistently to the standard we expect of him, and a lay-off didn't do Beckham any harm.

But if he scores a hat-trick tonight then great - we'll comment accordingly.

You obviously haven't seen the shot..it was only a couple of inches wide..twice..no one can be that accurate mate..sometimes it goes in, sometimes it doesn't..

Give him a break..

Maybe fergie thinks resting Giggsy isn't the solution but letting him find his form alone.
Becks was rested because he was tired and needed a rest.

Well I will be very happy if he gets one in. Come on Giggsy, come on United ...

i just laffed me chops off went to the official site and there was big mikk huffing and puffing out his chest, couldnt help but laff at his is it his oversize head or...i dont know...

Thats a good point Crembo Man.
But even the most ardent of us United fans can not truly say that Giggs has not had a drop in form recently. I want to see him back to his very best, scaring the shit out of the opposition. And scoring goals. But you made a good point IMHO

I have a funny feeling that Forlan will be brought on earlier than usual tonight and will score :) I would love to see him score.

I agree with that. But on the other hand you can't just use players who are "potentially match winners" if generally they aren't playing to their full potential.

The popular opinion is that Roy Keane was referring to Giggs with his Rolex comment. Or that at least, Giggs was one of the players Roy meant.

Aside from all that - I do like Ryan. We named our hamster after him. :)

`still dont think sebas been much good tonight.

For heavens sake, people. It's ok to be a little nervous and all, but it's a little early in the season for drawing out everyone's form-table, isn't it?

Giggs has been very willing to go directly for the goal this early in the season, and has carved out a lot of good goal-scoring-opportunities already. With a little luck he would scored some already.

I am confident he knows where the goal is. He isn't a striker like Ole or Ruud. But take my words for it; he knows where the goal stands.

Just ask Seaman.

:D

Except for the same mistake he made against Boro last season, he's been alright. Good thing this time it didn't result in a goal though. Seba's getting better... :D
