Vinicius Junior

Looking at that again I’d be disappointed if I were Ederson

Usually I'm quite critical of keeper positioning and the lack of feet movement etc but I don't think Ederson had a chance really. He could have perhaps shifted more to his right and not have been on his heels but the power of the shot would have taken it past him regardless.

Will have to see again though.

He's what we think Rashford is, awesome player. His general play is so good.

To be fair Rashford would look fantastic at Madrid because of the stage they’d give him. All the big games and all his goals would matter, not 30 goals chasing 4th.
On a side note Vinicius contract is up next summer, can’t allow him to go anywhere else in England if racism is an issue to him staying in Spain

I was going to say this but didn't want to be accused of being negative. Year in year out he's influencing games at the highest level. Rashford barely does this in the EL.

Possibly, but not to that level. He has the ability I think, but Vinicius of recent years has the consistency not only over matches but also during matches.

This is Rashy's best season numbers wise, but in 19/20 and 20/21 his general play was much better I think.

He adores Real, he's going nowhere.

He's pure danger. Every time he gets the ball he just creates havoc for the opposition.

A technically elite version of Rashford.

Truly top class game changers like this are what we might be able to look at if we had decent owners. I genuinely think he's better than Mbappe and Haaland in terms of talent.

He’s fantastic. City better keep Walker wrapped in cotton wool before the 2nd leg. Even then Vinicius was clever enough to drag Walker out of position a few times.

He's the last true wide player that plays with a free will since Neymar. I hope Antony can watch and learn a thing or two from him.

Is he the most driven and mentally solid winger since Ronaldo rose to the top?

His constitution is just phenomenal. Can't think of a more relentlessly pressurising winger than him in many a year.

A menace all game.

Last year it was the Benzema show with him as a great sidekick. This season, it's all him.

He's bloody good. Forget the goal, which was a class strike, he takes the right option most of the time on top of his skill and pace. Has an uncanny ability to take the right touch, burst past someone with the first movement and just slide a dangerous pass into somebody's feet around the box. Without him I don't think there would be that much to fear, yes Benzema is still a top striker, but this is the guy that scares you at the moment.

level above the likes of Rashford and Saka imo

Who in the hell would even compare those two to Vini?

If we somehow get through, it will be all Vini. Benzema ain’t doing it this season.

You get the feeling he's about to do something special every time he gets the ball. Genuine excitement.

Wonder just how good he will be in a couple of years time.

I remember watching him in a youth torurnament for Brazil before his big move. Were three players looked pure quality and he was one of them.....whatever happened to Alan Guimaraes though, tiny but looked like he would be an unbelievable player.

I thought though exciting and talented, Viniscus was a tad disappointing in his earlier days at Madrid. But the progress he has made from then to last season and from last season to this season is huge.

Bar Mbappe he is levels above any other wide players in world football, also by the way, what a fantastic right back Walker has become in his latter years, struggled as anybody would against that performance, but did so well, no other right back would have lived with him tonight at all I feel. But Viniscus has the pace, vision, passing, movement, finising, tricks....its all there now and he is starting to believe he is the best in the world too.

Dont want to make this post look like its Rashford bashing, as he has overall had a great season and been world class for a few months this season. But people on and off here said regardless of being local, wouldnt swap him for anyone, best in the world, as good as he has been Mbappe and Viniscus are on a differnt planet to him, levels. Often read the term "elite" on here and its bandied about way to often.....Viniscus is one of a vey small number of players that really deserves the tag with the player he has developed into, just fantastic to watch him...real bums of seat player, which is so rare nowadays

23 goals 21 assists for the season

Next step is bumping that goal number up into the 30s

Well yes, he's probably the best LW in the world aside from Mbappe.

Saka deserves a shout though because he's a very technical RW and there's very few of them around ar the moment. A team with both in it would be scary.

Mbappe might be better, but the argument falls flat until he moves out of that stat padding league.

As if Mbappé didn't have an impressive record in the CL or for France. This argument is getting really old.

I disagree. He's simply a better player.

The thing is, they both have very different roles. Mbappé isn't a wide player anymore since PSG doesn't have any forward, so he's forced to play as a weird striker/winger position. On top of that, he tries to much to be connected to the game. Mbappé really needs a striker to connect with because I don't think he'll ever be a real striker himself. Vinicius for exemple is far, FAR better when Benzema is on the pitch, the difference is huge.

Can't compare Mbappe and Vinicius because they play completely different roles.

I didn’t realise his contract is due to expire next summer, interesting times ahead

Straight swap with Rashford?

A genuine world class talent. Flip of a coin between him and Mbappe for me. Can’t see him having any ambition to leave Madrid any time soon either. Imagine him and Mbappe in the same team FFS!

It's hardly completely different roles. Both the main threat for their teams, playing in a wide left attacking forward role. How's thats completely different?
