It’s the same with DDG, those fouls won’t be called because of their reputation so force the ref to make a decision & give what you get - any tussle back from Lindelof there & VAR surely shows him being rugby tackled previous [if VAR can be relied upon of course], instead they go down limply.

It actually doesnt happen as often as you might think it should considering he's weak in the air and not very strong, but this was a perfect example of why a weak CB who is suspect in the air is not ideal for the premier league.

Got a guy who's supposed to be good at playing out from defense, all he seems to do is to pass to players within 5m of him.

You are talking like Maguire is not a problem. That chance he gave West Brom where he fell over softly was diabolical. It's Gary Neville Vs WBA except this guy is in his prime and is supposed to be captain and a leader of the defence.
The fact he touches him doesnt mean its a foul. He dives his body across him, not on him using him for leverage to jump higher. He simply tries to head the ball and Lindelof waits for it to come towards his head. If thats a foul then any contact whilst trying to win a ball is a foul.
He definitely lacks strength, there’s no getting away from that. That is a foul, though. 100%. That gets given as it should and we build into the game and most likely win. It’s the Sheffield United nightmare all over again.

I get it’s fine margins so small mistakes/ bad calls matter, however, we created next to nothing and we were playing the team second from bottom and away, which usually suits us. Awful performance.

hes a liability on defense, we have switch back to Bailly when he's healthy. Clubs are targeting him because they know he's physically weak and passive defensively. Attacker are bully him in the box because they can.

Getting through games in a fairly anonymous fashion, not making massive errors, but also making little real impact, just a guy out there playing.
To be fair and not facetious, he is decent at reading the play, sweeps behind fairly well and is technically solid. Hard to believe there are not 20 other CB's around Europe you could replace him with though.

Its not in his face. Its across his shoulder as he goes for the header. After he heads the ball maybe, but I cant remember a goal being disallowed for the follow through after a shot. If it would be it would mean you could launch yourself into someone as they shoot and get the goal chalked off for the contact after its flying at the goal.
I would have Maguire over Lindelof. Not that Maguire covers himself in glory but Maguire did look better with Bailly partnering him which suggests maybe a quick defender with him could make Maguire look more competent.

Think it's harsh to criticise him for the goal, there's plenty of other things to criticise him for.
