He surprised me today. Played really well. Whereas I usually think he's the weak link and has a mistake in him, today he was MOTM by quite a distance.

Think he benefits from the limelight being on Maguire due to him being £80m/captain/English.

When it mattered he showed up today. I personally feel he is better than Maguire at everything apart from headers

He's not fast, but he's not as slow as a lot of people make out. He's simply got average pace which would normally be fine, but the problem is that 'average' probably isn't enough next to an actually slow Maguire.
I've been very critical of him but fair play today was a huge huge match and he played fantastically.

No he isnt, where do you see that from? He is ok at doing the basics passing around the back which any decent premiership defender should be able to. When he tries to come out with the ball he often over runs it, he barely completes any complex passes out from the back, often over hitting them. Biggest myth of Lindelof to me is that he is good on the ball, utter nonsense.
I do think he was player of the match for us by far today, not that it was difficult but he certainly was key in gettin gus into the CL as almost eerybody else around him was absolutely awful today, he played well

Today I thought he did everything well and had a really solid game. He didn't head crosses back into dangerous areas and wasn't bullied by their forwards. He played really well.

I'm not talking about passing. He is pretty effective at running with the ball and driving forward due to his skill on the ball and mobility/pace.
Fair play, he was brilliant today when we really needed him the most. He was the only player on the pitch that actually raised their level in a crucial scenario

OK, wel in that case I disagree even less then. What skill on the ball and pace are you seeing? Maguire is reasonable at it but often over runs the ball, Lindleof runs into trouble regularly doing it. I know the last few years we have had some pretty dreadful players in possession of the ball but that shouldnt cloud your judgement. The one player that does have skill, pace and the ability to drive forward with the ball is Bailly, but he seems to do it so much without fear and so much in the wrong areas it is frightening at times
What has Lindelof excelled at this season? Tell me what you like about him and at least give me some vague idea about how we're both approaching this conversation. Something beyond emojis would be terrific.What are you going on about

I've noticed much more in recent games he has been picking the ball up and driving into the opposing half, quite effectively too.
If he can step up a level for next season it would really be a timely boost.

This guy has proved me wrong. Never saw a player in him. I'll hold my hands up! Still needs to improve on certain aspects of his game but he's getting there.

He is nothing special, but he is also nothing worse than Maguire. Had a good game today, and could definitely teach Maguire thing or two about passing the ball and keeping up the tempo.
I've got no interest in debating this issue with you. I choose not to because I genuinely don't care about what you think. That is the end of it.
