Del Piero set for Juve exit

Italian legend linked with move to PSG or Arsenal

Alessandro Del Piero's agent has confirmed that the veteran striker could be set for a summer move away from Juventus.

Paris-Saint-Germain and Arsenal have been reportedly tracking the 37-year-old veteran forward.

And former teammate Mohammed Sissoko, who plys his trade for the French giants revealed that he would like the club's Qatari owners to buy the experienced player at the end of the current campaign.

But Del Piero's brother and agent Stefano is adamant that the Italian legend is unlikely to make a decision in the near future, despite firm interest from abroad.

Speaking on his future, Stefano Del Piero told Ilsussidiario.net: "There is no news at the moment but all the doors are open for a move away from Turin.

"There are no restrictions from our part. It all depends on what type of project a club has and what is exactly behind the proposal and the kind of football which would attract Alex, but the main interest is the project."
Difficult

Stefano Del Piero also maintained they are miles away from signing a new deal with a new club, although he hinted that the player's stay in Serie A is likely to come to an end at the end of the season.

"I think that after 20 years with Juventus and having given his availability to the club to sign a new deal since last February, it is now very difficult to remain in Italy.

"We are not close to anything, but I think it will be hard to remain in Serie A."

Can't see arsenal being interested. He was class But he's too old now.

We should consider it

I don't quite understand why he would want to play for another club. Wouldnt he be leaving more of a legacy if he remains a one-club player like Maldini? If its due to disagreement with Juventus over his role and wages, I think it's extremely disgraceful treatment of a highly decorated player and wonderful person.

He isn't a one player club as it is, though he has been there a long time.

He's also not playing as much as he used to.

why? Beckham was better at them

Del Piero has a bigger array of techniques than Beckham. He can curl it (not as good as Beckham), he can make that crazy knuckle technique (Cristiano,Juninho and at times Drogba) and he can (or could) hit it with raw power.I'm not criticizing Beckham in any way just to be precise

AC Milan don't appreciate Maldini as much as you think. The hard core fans and the club have shunned him.

Why not leave? Raúl left and is doing well. If you want to keep on playing football you have to leave.

Why is that regarding Maldini? Just curious.

Juventus don't need him and will not renew him his contract. Some guys/clubs need to understand when the ride for a player had finished.

Even then, some people play for the love of the game. But I do agree - if he has something to offer then he can go to a club and perform well a la Raul.

Even when we signed Henrik Larsson I was skeptical at first because of his age and it turned out to be quite a good signing in general for the ability he perfumed at for us.

People age differently due to training, injuries sustained etc. Take 2 United legends as an example. If you think from a football perspective its amazing that Gaz is actually younger then Giggs.

Still good enough to come off the bench against Inter and set up a few chances and score a goal.

Choosing between Southampton and Sydney FC apparently. I'd love him to go to Southampton.

He should come to Southampton. Going to Australia might be a tempting idea but at this point he doesn't really need an extra €500k a year they could probably offer to lure him on top of what Southampton would pay, and to test himself in another stron European league would pose a great challenge. He could probably still score 10 goals in a season for Southampton.

I thought this was done last week. Sydney papers and the coach came out and said it was done and dusted. Maybe our brothers down south can add more.

Seems strange Southampton would be the only team in for him from England. And surely he could do better than them. Chelsea would surely throw money at them as would Liverpool.
