I know I'm going to get in trouble for this - but if we have to sell anyone in the summer, will it be Veron.

I know he's played a lot better this season, and tbh, I'd rather he stayed than went - but I've seen Scholes, Ole, Giggs, O'Shea, and Fortune put the kind of balls thru that we bought Seba for.

Ideally, he will stay - but if one big name has to go in order for us to buy, will it be him?

i am not. Name me another time where i mentioned his testicals.

Seba shouldnt be sold, if we get someone pacey they can run onto the end of his long balls (no gags please). Hes also carried us in europe at times. Also he wont be sold, fergie wont buy a 28 million pounds midfielder, then flog him the following summer, its a matter of pride and its the same with Forlan.

Veron is 26, Giggs is nearly 30. Not that I want Giggs to leave, but the he is coming to the end of his career.

If Beckham leaves, we need a free kick specialist. And O'Shea is a great prospect, but more in the Keane mould than Veron.

Veron's best days at OT are ahead of him.

For petes sake giggzy, if I said that about Kewell it would have been a joke.

And whilst I have said I prefer to buy either english or unknown, that has nothing to do with this post - and it's nothing to do with being xenophobic which I'm certainly not. If Beckham had been out for much of the season and we were in the position we are in now, I'd be asking the same question about him.

I've already said I don't want anyone to go from the first team, and that includes Veron.

I don't know. That's why I posed the question. I didn't say he should go.

I'm just looking at our position in the league, which we have achieved with less contribution from Seba than the others, through no fault of his own. And I'm not saying he hasn't contributed before someone misinterprets what I'm saying.

From a sentimental point of view I would hate to see Beckham or Giggs go. I really don't want any of them to go. Like I said, if we had achieved our current position without either Beckham or Giggs, I'd be asking the same question about them.

I'm merely posing a question - not stating what I think should happen.

Well, I perhaps understand to some extent, Livvie.. Only one thing though. I personally believe our team should be build around 5-6 individuals at this time:

1. RVN
2. Veron
3. O'Shea
4. Ferdinand
5. Scholes

The others can be picked out of the pool of players we have depending upon tactic desired.

But, for me those guys are indispensable.

Veron, is showing a lot of the attitude we need in a United player and when you couple that with the kind of talent he has, he becomes what he will show next season, our most dominant player, most charismatic player on the pitch in the EPL. I don't want to see him go.

I don't want to see him go either, and I've raised the question purely because we seem to have done OK without him in a lot of games.

However, if there were rumours about Veron leaving then fair enough..start a topic! but we're not a selling club, unless its for players who may not bet getting on with the Gaffer... Yorke, Cole....and now Becks spring to mind.

Yes, that's why my favourite players in recent years have been Cantona, Kanchelskis and Solskjaer.

I don't like buying big name foreigners if it can be avoided and if that makes me xenophobic, then I must be. I'm proud of a team that can put out so many homegrown English players, and members of the national squad - but I'm also proud of us discovering young unknown foreigners - like Ole and Andrei.

They need to display a passion for United as well imo. I would prefer that to some superstar who comes just for the money.

No one, doubts that.

SAFs always bought the right type of player.. and all the players who've come through..even the Irish lads(example of non-English)..have shown passion.

Afterall, we've not been successful for nowt.

Agree about United before England, but I still feel proud when our players make up the bulk of the team - it was great when Sheringham, Cole, Becks, Scholes, Neville and Butt all played in the same match.

The idea that our players risk getting injured just for a crappy friendly is annoying, Im glad Ferguson makes sure Giggsy doesn't go to Wales sometimes, the thought of having a player injured just for their country to play in a match no one actually cares about, or in a match where United players are booed just because they play for United annoys me too. Ive been to 2 or 3 England Matches in my time and I can safley say Il probably never go again due to the amount of times I hear United players being spoken of in a bad way - not in forms of song but in general conversation - Stuff England in my opinion if everybody is against each other - MUFC for me thank you very much.

I really do not understad this thread at all. He's come to us into a totally different culture, both on the pitch and off it, to a place with a language he couldn't speak, had his injuries over the same time, yet has mastered most of our European performances, and finally got to grips with Premiership football, and yet he is still put up to be sold.

And after that performance he put in the other night against Madrid, where for me he finally showed he was one of us. Played with all his heart, despite it being his first match for almost two months.

He's going to have a stormer of a next season, I can see it, and with Keane being moved back, he will finally become the player we payed all that money for.
