van Gaal joins: Official

So are we wanting him to do well in the world cup?

if they don't get far, you will just hear City, Liverpool and other fans go on how bad he is
If he does well in the world cup, it's longer until he gets to grips with the team

Also, going to Portugal tomorrow to pick up Carv....I mean to do some training with the team

There is a famous story about Louis van Gaal from his time at Bayern Munich. Van Gaal had insisted from the start on two major protocols at team meals: players must eat in the same space every day and they must sit up straight. A few weeks later Van Gaal spotted Luca Toni slouched in his seat at lunch and began to shout across the canteen. When Toni took no notice Van Gaal marched across, grabbed him by the collar (he is 6ft 1in, Toni 6ft 3in) and yanked his centre-forward up and almost out of his seat before walking back to his lunch in silence. Nobody slouched after that.

Step one of my dream summer complete, now to sell Rooney, sign Sanchez verratti kovacic shaw and clasie and win the title with Wilson breaking Ronaldo's scoring record. Nostrasparky has spoken

The future is bright
The future is red with an orange tint bitches

He must be very happy that he got such a big job in a league he wanted to try always. I don't think he really thought he will get such an opportunity. World Cup then Manchester United for 3 years.

The first thing LVG should do as United manager is sack Giggs as assistant manager as a way of asserting his authority.

I'm by no means expecting any miracles next season, in fact I'm not even expecting a title challenge BUT I do expect LVG to bring back some pride and passion around the place, a top four finish isn't completely out of the picture either with no European ties

Yes! I look forward to more Van Gaal Gifs in the future!

Annoyed. Would van Gaal have been anyone's ideal choice as the direct successor to Ferguson? Exceedingly doubtful, though I am 100% sure several super-fans will claim to always have wanted van Gaal.

Sickened that the club originally chose Moyes, we could have had a real chance at Ancelotti, Mourinho, or perhaps even Guardiola if the club and Ferguson had even had the minutest amount of foresight during Guardiola's year off.

Now we resort to this insufferably arrogant man whose best days are well and truly behind him. Looking forward to the cliques being formed at United, especially if van Gaal is allowed to make his predictable amateurish plunder for Dutch footballers, a ploy as ridiculous as Moyes raiding Everton. A seismic rift will form in the heart of Manchester United in the coming months. Frightening times.

We didn't have Ancelottis and Guardiolas to pick from this year, who else is out there who could conceivably join United and is better than van Gaal? He'll steady the ship for 3 years and then we'll move for someone younger.

He's a great manager.

If you carry on spreading your nonsense wums across this forum ill thread ban you from everything aside from the Rooney thread. Just stop being such a spastic or at least confine it to the Rooney one.

Can't argue with that.

Always dangerous having an assistant who aspires to take your job. Lets hope Giggs is a man of integrity and patience.

Possibly, but United need a rebuild and to hit the ground running. I don't think it'll be that easy.
I don't think a top 4 challenge needs any sort of rebuild. Winning the league does. I think next season will be a transitional one but a transition I see us finishing in the top 4 during.
