'Unamerican'...every time someone says that, they should get sodomized by Bubba. Sick of hearing it..
I never understand why these things are considered that funny (ok, maybe a little). The guy misspoke. So what? Obama did it a few times running for his first term. Bush was classic for it and the king of kings has got to be Biden. So does that make Obama stupid because he said he's been to 57 states? No.
It's funny because everything he's said so far makes it 50/50 whether he simply misspoke, or if he genuinely thought he was saying the right thing.
Bullshit. It's funny because it's someone the person is politically opposed too and they use it make themselves feel superior. They never do it when it's their guy.
What "agenda" would a German paper have in criticizing an obviously laughable GOP primary field?
Wait, anything that doesn't praise St Reagan and the GOP is LIBERAL MEDIA BIAS.
You don't think another nation might have a prefernece or interest to US politics? If not why did candidate Obama stop in Germany for a speech? It's not a news peice it's an opinion peice. Nothing wrong with that but it's not news and it's title is clearly biased, again nothing wrong with that. But to say a German paper couldn't have an agenda is simply not true. Of course they can.
I couldn't care less about Reagan or the GOP as I hate both parties but if an article came out and said that about the dems people would be labeling it a neo-con racist rag.
Because, honestly, "their guy" is usually not as stupid. Obama certainly isn't. If Romney made such a mistake, I wouldn't give it any thought. But I did with Bush Jr, and Perry is an even bigger idiot than him.
If Gingrich did it, I wouldn't think he was being stupid, but I'd still think he was being a pompous cnut. I firmly believe everything Newt does can be traced back to his pompous cuntishness.
What part of the Der Spiegel piece do you specifically disagree with?

I'm not speaking to the peice. I made reference to the title.
The Republicans' Farcical Candidates: A Club of Liars, Demagogues and Ignoramuses - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News - International
This above title is not a news peice title. It's meant to grab the attention of a very specific reader.
Just change two words and most everyone on here would dismiss it immeadiately.
The Democrates' Farcical Leadership: A Club of Liars, Demagogues and Ignoramuses - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News - International
This would be Der Spiegel's agenda against stupid people, wouldn't it? That's deplorable that they're against an idiot becoming president. It's an accurate commentary and summary of the field, and I never said it was a news article.
Their agenda will be advanced greatly in the upcoming primary where surely at least 13 of the voters will have heard of and read Der Spiegel. Maybe they'll vote for someone who isn't a joke in the GOP primary...oh wait. They're all horrible candidates and generally despicable people.
I would dismiss the second article because there isn't a Democratic primary going on this year. Obviously. Aside from that, it would need to be corrected by adding spineless to the adjectives in the title.
Just read it. Looks like something straight off The Daily Kos. I wouldn't go as far as to call it accurate. It's pretty much a slam job. But this is the political world we live in today I guess. Reaching any middle ground looks decades away at this point. Too bad.
You don't think the rest of the world has an interest in a decent person leading the USA instead of the feckwitts that the repubs are putting forwards for the job?
I mean, take a step back and think about what a President Cain or President Perry would really mean for the world! Shit...even a President Gingrich would be unthinkable.
The system we have as flawed as it is almost ensures a Cain or Perry will get shown out in the end. But that said Obama didn't turn out anywhere near what people thought. Especially on foreign policy.
but tbf the GOP had a much better field last time around...not that it was brilliant or anything.
But this bunch...heck any of us would have been more viable.
I cannot understand why so many did not throw their hat in.
Afraid of the crap economy...getting far worse?
Well now you're going to have to tell me exactly where you think Obama went wrong on foreign policy.
Unemployment has dropped to 8.6 percent this month, the lowest since early 2009. Good news for Obama.
I'm sure its all thanks to the Republican congress providing 'confidence' to the markets

The Repubs (Cantor and Gingrich in particular) have already lined up to shoot down those numbers with the stats everyone already knows about with folks no longer looking for work. Also pointing out unemployment hasn't been below 8% since Obama took office.
Honestly these cocks would rather scare monger than accept a bit of good news. They can't abide anything good happening while Obama's around.
Newt: Fire the janitors, hire kids to clean schools - Maggie Haberman - POLITICO.com
Newt Gingrich everybody. feck the janitors, get the kids to do their job instead.
Cali, an observation. It seems that lately, whenever an issue has come up portraying the American right wing in poor light, your immediate first response is "if positions were reversed". The positions aren't reversed. When or if they do get reversed, feel free to point it out as much as you feel like. Right now, it comes off a bit silly
The same could be said of the UK where it appears that politicians have ditched ideas of public service and principles in favour of naked careerism and the pork barrel (see Clegg for the most recent egregious example). But maybe we were just more naive back then.Politics in this country have been on a down turn. I think things got real nasty during the Clinton era. I think there were a lot of repubs that just despised him. It's been on a downward spiral since. At least pre Kennedy the office still had respect and people listened to each other to some degree. Now there's no dialogue.

That's a shame...Herman has suspended his campaign.
Has anyone EVER 'suspended' a presidential campaign before, i.e. actually came back in so that it just wasn't veiled quitting?
