The guy is fecking awful too. It's like they gone "Conservative black man...Quick!! find us a conservative black man!!" And consequently they've found some absolute retard who just so happens to fit that criteria...Without realising he's an absolute retard!

I still think it's much ado about nothing.

Someone state what the worst outcome would be of Romney winning the election.

Did so on page 328...

What in their reasoning is stupid?

I want Obama to win, but I simply do not know enough about Romney and the Republicans. What is the worst thing that could happen if they were to win?

I would be inclined to say go back to 2000 and see what happened over the next eight years. There's a glimpse.

I imagine more tax breaks for the wealthy, wall street backing, healthcare fecked, more SCOTUS bullshit with him possibly picking 1-3 new conservative justices (adios gay rights, pro-choice, etc.), and most likely war with Iran and/or Syria, and possibly no scaling back in Afghanistan and maybe a return to Iraq.

absolute collapse of the economy of the world's only 'superpower'. Though more likely it would just lead to the rest of the world (particularly Europe and the UK) to see the US as even more stupid than before. And that, for a moderate American, is extremely tough to stomach.

In immediate terms the US economy is more in the hands of the Senate and the House, their willingness to reach a deal and not jsut the president. We all saw how things dragged on a year or two back.

Romney just seems to be getting votes from all the redneck states.

It's not really Mitt, it's his party. They're currently largely mentalists.

Yeah I get that 'all republicans are mentalists', but Bush was a republican, and despite his Boris Johnson-esque idiocy, he seemed to do alright. By alright I mean he was re-elected, and I don't recall anywhere near as much fuss being kicked up as there is now.

This was a lot more fun last time around when I was a student. We turned it into a drinking game and got wasted....work sucks....

I gotta get me a trip to a swing state:drool:

What? It ended up in the Supreme Court and was hugely controversial?

Mate, defending Bush on a rabidly leftist site should be interesting.

RIP Liam

FL is currently exactly 50-50

As Wang points out, that's good news to an extent, as it means the polls look like they're holding up.

The mystic Wang could be the adults' version of Pauly the octopus.

FFS, Liam. :(

I'm not really defending him. I'm just stating facts. More than happy for people to put me right. But there wasn't this much of a fuss kicked up over Bush as there is Romney. Right?

Also, thanks for the replies about the impending doom should Romney come to power.

Go Obama! Woo!

Wish the BBC would stick their neck out and actually say it like it is, the fact that compared to this country at least the Republican party are a bunch of rabid loons.

Bush came across as a more likeable person than Romney. Also, having endured the Bush tenure we see how fecked up the GOP can lead this nation down the drain. So yeah, the ingredients add up to a big shit sandwich if Romney is elected. It's the first time in my life I'm very concerned about the outcome of an election.

The passive aggressiveness is strong in this one.

:lol:Liam's a good lad, just don't want him to have to face some tumescent shit storm from left wing keyboard warriors.
