Perry really does have an identical look of glazed incompetence to that of Bush.
Bush kept up a C average at Yale. Perry had about the same GPA, but at Texas A&M.
I can't believe I feel sorry for Rick Perry

Is he really getting mocked for not advocating building a massive fence? I lost concentration when Santorum was whining about something.
47% of people watching this on youtube, who you would think are younger than the average voter, want to remove the Department of Education.
What the feck is going on over there?
They want local/state governments, with less money, less skill, and are more easily manipulated by crazy people, to educate children.
Social issues now, excellent.
Maybe, but the education system is a disaster. The education kids get in this country is shocking. My two oldest went to public schools my youngest went to a private school (I am lucky enough to afford it now). His education was infinitely better. I put much more work in educating the older kids than I did the younger. The standards were just not there.
I feel sorry for American parents who have to face that issue. For me, the solution isn't to privatize education further, but to work on making the public education better.
It's a shame really what we NEED to do to ensure the kids are getting a proper education. I'm lucky. I worked hard and went to college (I actually have 2 undergrads and a B school degree). I could really help my kids. But what about the people who can't? They rely on a horrific system.
I see Sir Matts points and his concerns are very valid about local politics.
It is a shame. It's also something it's hard for me to wrap my head around. There are private schools in Norway, though not many, but there's really no perception that the public education (as far up as the University level) is any worse. I'd be interested to find out how exactly things became like this in the US.
This is where you'll get the debate. Is it not enough spent per student? Is it spent ineffectively? Is it class size? Is it curriculum? Is it standards? My opinion it's a combination of so many factors I'm not sure where you start.
how many evangelical voters are there?
'Moderate' republicans and pragmatic republicans will push him past Perry.
it will be Perry.
those 'Jaysus lovers' will not vote for a Mormon...even if he is probabaly more of a 'Christian' than they are.
Really? I thought 'faith' was the keyword for those people, not necessarily 'Christian faith'.
nah...they think this is a 'Christian' country.
Mormons are not Christians...the funny thing is neither are they.
