Mitt Romney PwC Letter Is Meaningless, Reid Fires Back

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/21/mitt-romney-pwc-letter-reid_n_1904543.html

Saw this post.

Gee, I wonder why this is coming out this week?

It's a sorry attempt to change the conversation from this past week. However, all it really serves to do is raise more questions about his taxes while the 47% issue remains.

Yes, Romney campaign, the voters can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Obama 2012

Well I've been pulled into another debate on FB, this time trying to defend Obama and also educating people that he's not a socialist. The post that caught my initial attention was comparing Obama to a Nazi. What the feck is wrong with half this country?

Nah, I like them but some facebookers are just idiots with a big mouth because it's online.

Would love some comments to these so I can fire back tomorrow.

Big Talker: He didn't just become a Nazi. He was a Nazi when he was elected in the first place by the socialist democrats. It's just that now we have proof.

Me: Socialist? LOL. There was a time when I too fell for that right wing socialist tripe. It just proves how uneducated most citizens are when it comes to types of governments.

Big Talker: Scott, don't condescend to ME, you pissant. I have more political education than you will ever have about any subject in your entire life.
I know a socialist when I see one. If the dictator in chief wants bigger government that pays for everything through redistribution, government controlled and subsidized healthcare, and every other social program imaginable all paid off the backs of the "community", then I call a spade a spade and a socialist a Marxist.

Me: And then the personal insults come. Bravo!

Big Talker: Yeah, typical of a libtard to act like a condescending prick and then accuse others of name calling when they call you on it.

I love how Big Talker immediately claims to have more political education that I will ever have about any subject in my life without a) knowing my educational background and b) my profession. This implies to me that a) I touched a nerve in him which b) struck a psychological need to reply with a "my dick is bigger than yours" insecure response.

Reading his profile (friend of a friend, not of mine) he reads like a wannabe A-type personality with some rather odd ramblings, although there might be some embedded sarcasm in his "about me" section. But his education is in information systems so I don't see how he could claim to have more political education than another. I mean what if I had a degree in political science and/or worked in politics - then he just shot first, aimed later, much like his presidential candidate does regularly.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they manage to reconcile those two.

Don't know if this was mentioned already but NPR ran a piece on the Romney campaign yesterday. Apparently his donors are running for the hills and the super paks are pulling their adverts. I know here in Florida the number of adverts is extremely low for this stage of a campaign.

Seems they are basically shutting up shop and conceding defeat.

Has there been, in modern times, any instance of someone being so far behind at this point, who still went on to win? Either because they made something happen, or because the data isn't perfectly reliable. I'm talking preferably more modern than "Dewey wins".

No you can't come back from that far behind in a few weeks....especially if your a rich unlikeable twat with the personality of a loofah.

Interesting that the corresponding thread on the US site I use had dropped of the front page of the forum. Seems the GOP fanboys have gone fishing or started the winter golf season early.

Republicans will tell you that this is mirroring Reagan v Carter in 1980, neglecting to mention that Reagan pulled out into a big lead after his convention. Clinton also started off behind but then took a big lead, but that also happened way earlier in the campaign. Obama hasn't been behind in the polls all year, Romney got zero bounce out of his convention and Obama is getting stronger in his polling results.

Couple of good graphs showing it here - http://www.aei-ideas.org/2012/09/ob...going-to-end-up-like-1980-1992-maybe-neither/

That said, the economy is still the worry. If it bombs, anything can happen.

watching Chris Hayes.

I agree with him...This looks like a Wave election. The polling in the Senate races has been dramatic. If it keeps going this way, The Democrats may actually get close to 60 seats.

There is not enough data on Congressional and State Legislature seats. But I do see a dramatic move to the Democrats in the Generic House races. Lets hope we can take back the house.

Got to agree that it's not look good for Republicans anywhere...

I think democrats will get 54 in the senate.

The biggest problem is the demographic problems for the republicans everywhere, too right wing, too white, too rural.

all the GOP need to do is move to the center...be inclusive...just become moderate.

I hope the sane people will eventually take over the party....for the good of the country.

The lunatics are running the asylum. The party'll have to be broken before the moderate Republicans can wrest control back from them.

They either go through the process or they will go the way of the Whigs.

Alternatively I see a Libertarian party without the religious lunatics making some headway. That may appeal to both sides especially if in the short term the defecit keeps growing.

The key for democrats is to pass serious jobs bills...when they get Congress.

The DNC will launch a campaign swing through Ohio to counter the three-day Ohio bus tour Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will embark on Monday - Wednesday, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

The Romney-Ryan tour is being billed as “Romney Plan For A Stronger Middle Class” bus tour. In a nod to Romney's 47 percent comments, Democrats' tour, in which former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse will make stops in the same six cities Romney and Ryan will visit, is called the "Mitt Romney: Writing off the Middle Class Tour."

Palin is advising Mitt to go Rogue.

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/palin-advises-romney-go-rogue

liked these from the responses.

Come on, Mitt, listen to this elder stateswoman of the party! Go rogue! Wink more! Create starbursts in Rich Lowery's screen!

Maybe if Paul Ryan started wearing leather outfits..

High heels and tattooed lip gloss!!

Let's not bring his private life into this!

Might as well ask Sooty about Existentialism.

 The other Perry one is amazing too:

Ron paul one's good too. "You're a pony and you want this cookie and yet you can't think straight... bring on the steamed croutons."

In the words of Stephen Colbert:

Sarah Palin would be a great foreign policy advisor. To her, all policy is foreign.

That was a genius line, up there with reality having a liberal bias.
