While we're still in a post coital glow of a good ol' Clinton love in, there's always this bizarre gem of oddness.

So Bibi is on Meet the Press trying to help Willard. All this hand wringing about Iran. He did agree that the US has said Israel are free to defend themselves against any threats.

So why are you so anxious suddenly about Iran getting a nuclear weapon. Nothing has changed.

You are so obvious Bibi... Willard's dog. Just remember what he did to his dog though.

I'd say at this stage Willard is Bibi's dog. Expect some stronger anti-Iranian sentiments from Mittens in the coming weeks.

just reading the Iran thread. Looks like Israel is going to strike Iran...

bye bye ayotollah...

Israel are looking to influence this election and it is worrying. They want to drag the US into a war that will see Russia and China maybe on the side of Iran.

This guy wanted to be the president of the United States of America

"We will never have the media on our side, ever, in this country," Santorum said, according to BuzzFeed and a video posted by Right Wing Watch, available above. "We will never have the elite, smart people on our side, because they believe they should have the power to tell you what to do."

"The basic premise of America and American values will always be sustained through two institutions -- the church and the family," the former Pennsylvania senator added.

Never have the smart people on our side

They're not really, they're just trying to use it for positioning for the future. I don't think it's of much import if they get Obama to throw a few hardballs in Iran's direction.

Joe Klein, who's pretty pro-Israel in general:

I don’t think I’ve ever, in the 40 years I’ve been doing this, have heard of another of an American ally trying to push us into war as blatantly and trying to influence an American election as blatantly as Bibi Netanyahu and the Likud party in Israel is doing right now. I think it’s absolutely outrageous and disgusting. It’s not a way that friends treat each other. And it is cynical and it is brazen. And by the way, a little bit of history here: In December of 2006, George W. Bush went over to the Pentagon, met with the joint chiefs of staff and asked them, “What do you think about military action in Iran?” They were unanimously opposed to it. And as far as I know, the United States military, the leaders of the United States military, are unanimously opposed to it to this day. This is a fool’s errand. It would be a ridiculous war with absolutely no good coming of it.

^ But...But, Israel is going to be nuked any day now...and this is an IMMINENT threat.

The Iranian regime are NOT nice guys, the Ayatollah is not going to wish the Jewish people a Happy New Year, but I honestly don't think the very existence of Israel is under threat.

Also people speak about Obama disrespecting Bibi, the 'middle finger' the Israeli establishment gave him and his administration deserves nothing else.

Did anyone see 60 minutes last night. They had Mark Cuban and Steve Wynn on talking about the choices this election. Both were strong Obama supporters in 2008. It was fairly interesting hearing the views of very successful businessmen, both with a strong social conscience. They have both changed their position somewhat, with Wynn flipping completely.

Cuban said the economy is bad but Obama should be given another term. It was hardly a convincing endorsement because his thinking was mainly Obama is a know quantity and Romney has failed to outline his plans for the economy. He isn't 100% confident in Obama but says if Romney can't tell us how he would fix things he shouldn't be considered.

Wynn was a lot more critical of Obama. He basically praised his campaigning and speaking ability but called him a 3rd rate President. He said Obama was far stronger in the media but doesn't have the experience or polices to turn things around. On the other hand he called Romney a 3rd rate campaigner but has a lot more faith he would make a difference to the economy.

This is pretty mental: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/secret-video-romney-private-fundraiser

Mitt Romney said:
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.

Steve Wynn is a fecking idiot then. No president would have turned around that deficit in that economy with two wars to pay for.

Maybe but he is also a highly successful business man who is respected in pretty much all quarters. Cuban couldn't come up with a real reason to vote Obama, it was like endorsement by default.

I can't work out if it's what he actually believes, or if he's doing his usual routine of pandering to whoever's in front of him at that particular moment. Either way, accusing 47% of the voting electorate that they pay no income tax, with his continual refusal to release more tax returns in mind... it's going to be interesting.

Wow, you're right. That is mental. Is it definitely real? If this was done a earlier in the year I'm surprised I haven't heard of it.

Anyway, incredibly disrespectful as well. What I heard from him was out and out disdain for half of the people he feels so worthy to represent. I certainly wouldn't fancy someone like that looking out for the general interest.

47% of us don't pay taxes? When did I become such a chump?

He really likes to pull phantom statistics out of his arse doesn't he? First the 'middle 'class' median income of $200,000 thing and now the supposed fact that half the nation doesn't pay income tax.

Next he'll be telling us that 30% of Obama voters are illegals.

Half the country doesn't pay income tax. It's not a problem because those people pay payroll taxes and sales taxes and most of them are so poor that it's okay for them not to pay taxes.

Not sure how reliable the source is but it sure looks real. When did Romney secure the nomination again? Was some time between then and now, anyway.

He's such a cretin.

In other news, the Russians have been keeping an enormous diamond mine containing 10 times more diamonds than the global reserves a secret for 35 years.

The pitchforks are coming out:

he was outed by someone attending his fundraiser. Espionage stuff.
His campaign response was very general. They never disputed the video. This is not going away.

You cannot expect to be President when you are so disdainful about half the country.

Might as well fold up the tents...

I think that's the key isn't it?

Prime stuff for Obama. He has devastating figures to use against him in the propaganda war.

ROMEY HATES HALF OF AMERICA.

I still can't believe he said "they think they're entitled to food"...as if they aren't! Apparently in his mind, you have to prove yourself worthy to eat. The Hunger Games are real to him, aren't they?

Today, Mitt Romney Lost the Election

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-17/today-mitt-romney-lost-the-election.html

You can mark my prediction now: A secret recording from a closed-door Mitt Romney fundraiser, released today by David Corn at Mother Jones, has killed Mitt Romney's campaign for president.

On the tape, Romney explains that his electoral strategy involves writing off nearly half the country as unmoveable Obama voters. As Romney explains, 47 percent of Americans "believe that they are victims." He laments: "I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

So what's the upshot? "My job is not to worry about those people," he says. He also notes, describing President Obama's base, "These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax."

This is an utter disaster for Romney.

Romney already has trouble relating to the public and convincing people he cares about them. Now, he's been caught on video saying that nearly half the country consists of hopeless losers.

Romney has been vigorously denying President Obama's claims that his tax plan would raise taxes on the middle class. Now, he's been caught on video suggesting that low- and middle-income Americans are undertaxed.

(That one is especially problematic given the speculation about what's on Mitt's unreleased pre-2010 tax returns.)

Corn tells us there are more embarrassing moments on segments of the video he hasn't released yet. Romney jokes that he'd be more likely to win the election if he were Hispanic. He makes some awkward comments about whether he was born with a "silver spoon" in his mouth.

But those are survivable. The really disastrous thing is the clip about "victims," and the combination of contempt and pity that Romney shows for anyone who isn't going to vote for him.

Romney is the most opaque presidential nominee since Nixon, and people have been reduced to guessing what his true feelings are. This video provides an answer: He feels that you're a loser. It's not an answer that wins elections.

Mental isn't it? He lists 'food, healthcare and housing'... all of those are basic human-rights to which everyone should be entitled, no matter how poor they are.

I'm not American, but listening to that made me very angry. The Obama team should just broadcast that recording in their ad slots for the rest of the campaign.
