"This is the time for us as a nation and a people to stand united,'
- Ronald Reagan, Republican presidential candidate

"I unequivocally support the president of the United States -- no ifs, ands or buts -- and it certainly is not a time to try to go one-up politically. He made a difficult, courageous decision,"
- George H.W. Bush, a presidential candidate at the same time.

And that was when the President had actually made a decision that had gone wrong - Carter's botched hostage rescue.

I've been watching it a fair bit recently, I can't get over the stuff they come out with. It's insane. Now to us it's utterly retarded, but to many it isn't and FOX are trying to incite or stoke as much rage and hate over anything that crosses their agenda. Watching today they are hell belt on promoting this idea that America is basically under attack.

And that EVERYTHING Obama does is somehow weakening America. I heard someone say "We're the laughing stock of the World" and I was thinking..What World? You have no idea of what anyone outside of your tiny spectrum of right wing American opinion thinks and if you did you'd probably not be such an insane tit. YOU'RE the laughing stock of the World.

They live in an incredible alternate Universe where the World will literally explode at any minute if Obama is allowed to...erm...continue doing vaguely the same things every President has done over the last 20 years. It's must be terrifying actually being them, but it's even more terrifying knowing they have any influence, however small, over the outcome of political elections in the most powerful country in the World.

Like Plech said earlier, they're actually incredibly unpatriotic, bordering on traitorous, whilst constantly whinging about how unpatriotic everyone else is. It's bonkers.

It scares me that anyone would vote for the current Republican party, let alone huge swathes of the country by default. Let alone that many of them undoubtedly do because they think Obama is the black, Godless, but somehow Muslim, baby killing anti-Christ.

It's really, really fecking scary Hector.

It's terrifying, and it affects all of us. Irrespective of whether Romney's faking his nuttiness, it's the party that has the power, and the party is now extreme... EXTREMELY extreme.

Whichever party gets in will probably get two terms, several SCOTUS picks... shit is real.

Unpatriotic is exactly right, I don't think there has this much direct hate and second guessing of a President. At this point, it is almost impossible for FOX to acknowledge anything Obama does in a positive light. It's either attacked through spin, or ignored altogether. It doesn't seem to matter how counter-intuitive it is, or how much harm it can do the country over all, they simply don't give a feck. It's astonishing. How people can lap this shit up is beyond me, and damn right it is scary, but worse is that we know ignorance exists, but to feed it in manner FOX are doing is very dangerous. The anti-sentiment and panic they are trying to whip up is completely mental.

The country can not afford a Republican president, the world can't, and it scares me too that there are millions of people who want to put one in.

There was a nationwide Gallup poll done just recently that showed that 46% of Americans believe in creationism.

Nearly half the people that live on that big patch of land over there believe God clicked his fingers a few thousand years ago and put us here.

It might look like I'm just picking a random thing to bash Americans with, but I'm not, I just think that if you can have an awful lot of people believe something so ridiculous then it must be easy to tell them that Obama is making friends with terrorists and so on

Anyone watching now? A new low. Asking if the American people should make themselves heard as well by going out into the streets in force to demonstrate and burn their flags.

Are you watching The Five? They are all massive feckwitts except for the lone lib. The Greek's tits are the best thing about the show.

Yep that's right....Burn the "muslim" flags. Only on FOX.

Ah. I thought they were encouraging disenfranchised patriotic Americans to burn their own flag in some kind of warped patriotic protest at the obviously decaying state of Obamas America. They probably could get people to do that. Which would be amazing.

Yeah, they're all fecking idiots but it's fascinating viewing, in a frustrating way. Her face is a distorted mess. You could see the lib was trying to contain his anger, I think he just gave up, but yeah he's a dick too.

You know as ridiculous as that is, it wouldn't be the most unrealistic thing to see, Americans burning American flags in protest against Obama. That's probably the dream FOX are aspiring to.

That wannabe hipster prick used to edit Loaded, I think. He's just a troll doing it for the lulz. The other three all believe the shite they come out with.

I was wondering what his game was, because he seemed a bit more disconnected then the others and seemed to just be flat out trolling with some of his statements, and the smirks afterwards.

Yes, it was Mitt Romney on a live address to the nation. Paul Ryan was behind him holding an AK-47 too.

He does a show called Redeye which can be quite amusing. He's a definite troll. Those gay trainers with the suit confirm what a cnut he is.

It would be an absolutely amazing WUM. If you could whip up dumb Tea Party nutter protesters into acting exactly like dumb fanatic muslim fundamentalist protesters, towards their own country. Burning the American flag, attacking their own embassies/town halls with rocks. As you say, it's not even remotely hard to imagine, they're only a stones throw (pun intended) away anyway. They've got the placards of Obama as Hitler or the devil. They just need Sacha Baron Cohen to come along and give them a push.

I suppose that would be the one good thing about a Romney future. If it had to happen, please let that be the way. At least that way everyone else can silently nod and keep a respective distance.

One thing I've never quite got about Fox is whether they're genuinely as outraged as they make out to be, or if they're just being incredibly cynical. I remember the whole Bill O'Reilly, "tides go in, tides go out, you can't explain that" thing, he must've been acting there. Some of them do seem genuinely mental though.

He's done the tides go in tides go out thing for years. I think he genuinely believes it. Did you see his "video blog" thing after all the reactions to that particular one? He called people pinheads for saying that we knew how the tide works: the moon. And then asked how the moon got there. And why Mars doesn't have the moon.

He's stupid.

They're like the modern day priests. Those at the top know it's a crock of shit but they're happy to mislead the congregation for their own ends.

Romney is out there saying crazy things because his internal polls are showing these same leanings except they are worse. He has lost Ohio. There is no way Romney can win the election without Ohio. But Obama can still win without all these states.
