when Perry was asked about Texas having such high executions...the applause was deafening.
this is the difference between those inbreds there and the general public.
Obama must be rubbing his hands watching these numbskulls...
none of them is fit to clean his shoes.
Um...5th generation Texan, me. No inbreeding.
But yes. That being an applause line was sickening.
And more applause when Perry said he lost no sleep over the idea that anyone executed may have been innocent.
Especially since it's been proven that at least one of the recent executions was of an innocent man. Perry refused a hearing, in spite of new evidence that proved the man innocent. Not cast doubt on guilt; proved innocence.
I agree that some crimes should forfeit the life of the guilty, but the process of proving it is too hit or miss, and can't usually be trusted with such stakes. And if the guy with final say is so intent on being dogmatic that he effectively murders someone then maybe the death penalty is just too dangerous.
Perry, with the emotional maturity of a 13 year old, has the power of life and death over people. That's chilling.
I think, in general, any executive, be they a governor, or president, who refuses a stay, or commuting of sentence, or a pardon, in the end must perform the execution themselves. Let's see how committed they are.
