US Politics

The numbers are sourced from Adams' NPR interview this past week and republished on most websites covering the protest.

His specific quote based on preliminary analysis is that "...,over 40% of those who participated in Columbia and CUNY were not from the school, and they were outsiders".
And you honestly don't see any issue with calling professors, former students and students from other schools infiltrators? You don't think using that negative word serves a narrative that outside forces are hellbent on turning these protests violent?

If you read Adams' interview, he said he made the decision to go in after learning one of the husband's of one of the "agitators" (unclear whether student or an outsider) was previously arrested on terrorism charges. The cops are ultimately in the business of public safety and Adams decided to err on the safe side. The fact that they went from tent encampment to buildings and were asked by Columbia to come in, were obviously also part of the equation. The arrests at Columbia were not nearly as heavy handed as they were here at UCLA the other day, which is an actual case of the cops overreaching , despite being asked by the school to come in and remove the protestors.

That is Adams' retelling of numbers given to him, not a claim made by the NYPD.

If you read the Guardian article @maniak linked, you can see that 40 % number is dragged up by the CCNY protests, which included protests not on campus. It also states that the police use "non-student" to mean "unaffiliated":

The NYPD release, issued on Thursday evening, stated that 80 of the 112 protesters arrested at Columbia on Tuesday were students. The police department added that 68 of the 170 people arrested at a separate protest at CCNY were also students, meaning 60% were “unaffiliated”.

I have to give it to you mate, you can write lines and lines without actually addressing what you're asked. In a way it's a talent.

You said 40% were infiltrators. They were not.

You said the police backed this claim. They didn't.

The intrepid media has already uncovered the Soros hand behind the protests, but it could get even darker...

I remain thankful that patriots on both sides of the aisle have taken decisive steps to stop American kids from being exposed to Un-American views.

You’re just taking everything that Eric Adams is saying at face value. A man known to make shit up. Right?

The party is too far gone to revert back to the Reagan/Bush establishmentarian mold of decades past, so what we're likely to see is a lot of infighting among competing factions until one of them wins out. That's already taking place as we speak between the freedom caucus faction and the old guard, and is likely to continue, eventually settling on a new leader who can bridge the divide between the two. Perhaps a JD Vance or similar millennial generation guy who has cross-faction credibility at the moment.

Yeah, that seems like a likely outcome. Then the question becomes how long and nasty that infighting period will be. There will be a range of people that want to be the next top dog, and they are all narcissists and egomaniacs, who will try to copy Trump's tactics and rhetoric. Trump partly got to this position by getting there first, but noone will have that advantage again.

There should be a clause in every country's constitution to be able to scrap the constitution when something like this happens. Not securing funding has such a domino affect in cancelling programmes, jobs, partnerships, etc.
If that happened there wouldn't be a country in the world with a constitution!

I'm not sure JD Vance and credibility should be in the same sentence!

Like I said, the burden to prove otherwise is on you not me, given that its been published by the NYPD. If your only argument is that the NYPD are lying then that's not a very credible response to a figure published by the authorities.

The NYPD is lying. If you take them seriously that's a you problem. They lie consistently like all police departments across the US to cover their ass from all the illegal searches/seizures/assaults/thefts. and murders they commit.

NYPD lies

NYPD Union Scandal

The way The United States, congress, Joe Biden, the right and liberal media, have supported Israel as their soldiers have raped Palestinians, mutilated children, killed women and children, inflicted starvation on a defenseless population, killed their medical staff, killed aid workers, killed their educational class, killed their journalists, destroyed their hospitals and educational institutions and destroyed their homes has been just about the most disgusting thing I've seen in my lifetime. The only thing worse is the glee with which Israel has done it all.

The UK, the EU, Kier Starmer and the rest, same thing.

Agree, and I'd add the faux outrage, gaslighting, and lies when anyone dares to speak up and protest about it. Everyone from college students to the ICC are being threatened and smeared.

Bowman’s page, which uses his longtime screen name “Inner Peace” and features his image and videos from the middle school he once led, subscribes to dozens of bewildering and bizarre accounts—including known Russian and Chinese disinfo peddlers, flat earthers, musings about UFOs and “signs you’re being prepared to cross to the new earth,” a U.S.-born Muslim influencer who killed a German citizen and provoked attacks on American businesses in Egypt, and many arcane online realms in between.

pretty damn good considering he did this completely off the cuff

I don't know who is this guy, I don't know what he stands for. But is quite much better articulated than any of the US representatives that are over an over in the political news cycle

He was the lead impeachment prosecutor for one of the impeachments and I believe he is/was a constitutional law professor. Double cancer survivor as well.

Is good to see that at the background, behind all the noise, there seem to be competent people. Though I am based on little information to be honest

The reaction on the House Floor is glorious though.

It's about time that cnut feels a huge dose of hate. And truth be told, I hope she will get what Mamuka Mdinaradze received at the Georgian parliament just for being pro-Russian a few weeks ago.

You think she cares? She'll be re-elected again in November because she's loved by the brainless extras from the Walking Dead who inhabit her district
