GOP leader, who voted to expel TN Three, resigns; found guilty of sexually harassing interns

A member of GOP leadership in the Tennessee House of Representatives was recently found guilty of sexually harassing at least one legislative intern, likely two, by an ethics subcommittee acting in secret, NewsChannel 5 Investigates has learned.
About six hours after being confronted by NewsChannel 5 Investigates, Rep. Scotty Campbell gave up his seat in the Tennessee General Assembly.
Until now, Campbell, who served as vice chair of the House Republican Caucus and who recently voted to expel three Democrats who engaged in a gun violence protest on the House floor, had suffered no previous consequences as a result of his actions.
Oh how delicious. While he was voting to own the libs and boot black lawmakers for being a bit too loud over gun violence. He's over here sexually harassing interns who are having to be relocated and protected from him on the taxpayer dime no less.

Marge gets shut down by her own R colleagues, then fumes about it on social media.

DeSantis is looking sillier by the minute. He was arguably strongest when people hadn't heard him speak, but just had this vague notion that he had done a good job in Florida on COVID and other things. He will be unable or unwilling to go gloves off against Trump and his campaign will die with a whimper as Trump wins the GOP nomination in a landslide.

Looks like Kensington Avenue in Philly. Been like that for years too. Absolutely terrifying.

It's becoming like that in many places here in the UK too. Not quite as bad, but it's definitely getting worse. Torquay and Paignton, the so called 'English Riviera' is a prime example. Homeless people everywhere along the main strips after the shops close, and the multistory car parks have got areas with tents filling them, and the stairwells are their toilets.

I think to discuss it properly we need a separate thread.

See, this is why polls sort of are meaningless.

Yes, if you ask the average GOP voters, would they keep the minimum wage, keep social security and medicare, they would say yes, but, while they might sort of care about these things(but not really), what they really care about is not having gay characters in movies and making libs cry.

Culture war is real, GOP base is not about policies.

I honestly don't know what the majority of Republicans care about.

For many it was abortion, for others it was not giving stuff away for free (despite the fact that was cutting their noses off to spite their faces because they just like the sound of it but don't understand it really)

I think now it's down to they honestly feel their way of life is in danger and they are holding on for dear life. They don't like change, they don't like the fact they are outnumbered, their values aren't the same as others, they don't like things they don't understand and they are fecking shit scared so are doing everything they can to hold on to what they think is normal without realizing they are also contributing to the destruction of everything.

They are so bothered what other people are doing they are blinded by hate and fear. Instead of just getting on with their lives they are consumed by fighting something that is inevitable. It's also, something that is really only an issue in their own heads.

It doesn't help that their hypocrisy, ignorance and fear is fuelled by so many media and social media outlets. If they just ignored what others were doing and voted for what benefitted them and their community then I bet the Republicans would be lucky to get 20% of the votes in all elections.

I would say yes

If it was it'd be a hell of a commitment to the bit:

Honestly, just type "Kensington Avenue" into YouTube. Page after page of youtubers drive around this hellhole on an almost daily basis in search of views. They've been doing it for ages too. Unless it's a massive multi year conspiracy it's not some figment of a Russian propagandist's imagination, it's an actual fact of American society.

Reminds me of, many years ago, when I was in Portland Oregon - driving along, middle class area and then I crossed an invisible line and suddenly it looked like this, but with more tents. I was in culture shock - it felt as if everyone who could be described as 'down and out' - for whatever reason - was corralled into a single area of town.

An astonishing amount of politics in the US, and the rest of the anglosphere (maybe the rest of The West, I am not sure), is just people endlessly calling their opponents paedophiles.
