Is he a progressive ? Also, why would an FBI investigation have anything to do with Pelosi ?
The implication is Pelosi fears progressives so much she would back an anti-abortionist who is under FBI investigation over one of them.

It’s not that complicated.

Seems very plausible among the Jimmy Dore contingent.
Because backing blue dogs like Manchin and Sinema have been so spectacularly successful.

Newsflash: Roe is about to be overturned and Republicans will abolish the legislative filibuster the moment they win back the Senate.

What does any of this have to do with Cuellar and his investigation ?

Nancy Pelosi Criticized By Left for Committing the Grievous Sin of … Wanting a ‘Strong Republican Party’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made the terrible mistake of declaring that the country needs a “strong Republican Party.”

While speaking at the Aspen Ideas Climate Conference in Miami, Florida, Pelosi targeted Republican lawmakers over issues like climate change, which she says should be “bipartisan.” She then called on Republicans to take their party back to become more pro-choice and pro-environment.

“So rather than saying, ‘Well, we have to defeat them,’ no, let’s just try to persuade them. I want the Republican Party to take back the party, take it back to where you were when you cared about a woman’s right to choose, you cared about the environment,” the congresswoman said.

The lines worked plenty in the room as Pelosi was met with applause.

“Here I am, Nancy Pelosi, saying this country needs a strong Republican Party. Not a cult,” she added.

Pelosi’s idea of what a “strong Republican Party” has earned plenty of expected backlash from conservative critics, but her fiercest criticism has been from liberals disgusted at the idea of Pelosi calling for persuading the opposing side on issues.

“Yeah… finding it basically impossible to justify voting for Democrats while Pelosi is in power. This is a Republican,” liberal journalist Carlos Maza tweeted in response to Pelosi.

“What we need is Democratic leadership that recognizes oppression and suppression for what it is. What we need is strength and bravery to stand up and protect our collective interests,” YouTube creator and ESPN correspondent Angela Rye wrote, adding, “do better, fam.”
Others were equally as dismissive of Pelosi’s call for a “strong” opposing party, something some critics argued would never be a call made by Republicans about Democrats.

She periodically returns to this inane platitude. Basically she thinks the Republicans' biggest sin is that they aren't holding up their side of the bargain. The Democrats screw over the left wing of their party every chance they get. There's no realisable threat of undermining the lucrative status quo coming from the Left - Edems are doing their bit! Annoyingly enough, though, Republicans are letting the side down. The Republican establishment has lost control of its captive population and as a result the gravy train's in danger of coming off the rails.

Must be maddening for her.

His recent thread evisceration of Meghan McCain on Twitter is quite something.

Yeah, she fecked around and found out. With the QOP throwing around the accusation of pedo like it nothing this was bound to happen. Should happen more.

Nah, that should be juussstt enough to cover dinner and apps and an extra bottle of wine at the French Laundry.
Eaten there three times, it ain’t cheap. But, it should be on someone like yourself’s bucket list.

It's on there. The only issue, as always, is the gluten free friendliness of the place but our experience has been that the high end places can easily accommodate. We are thinking of a Napa vacation sometime in the next few years. There is just something about the food imagined by the upper tier of chefs that is transcendent (I know I sound like a giant douche). The first time I ate at Highlands (Stitt) and Hot and Hot Fish Club (Hastings) it was an almost religious experience. Can't wait to see what NC has to offer.

That’s how we first met on here, reminiscing about Highlands & Hot & Hot. How sweet. You would have dug Magnolia Grill in Durham, think Highlands east. Don’t know if Ben & Karen Barker have opened anything new, but they are a chef duo to always patron.

Yep, was great to finally talk to someone who didn't piss themselves laughing at the concept of Birmingham being a food destination .

Divert it to the homeless problem now…

Nah, they need to keep Republican voters onside. They should use it to buy Twitter, then ban Musk from tweeting and use the rest of the cash to provide free heroin for any LGBTQ folk who want it.

Barring any unforeseen catastrophe, we’ll see him lead the ticket at some point.

Ordinarily yes, but unfortunately he was once married to Don Jr.'s Puerto Rican girlfriend, so you can be assured any coke binges, orgies, or similar activities would be exposed if he were to run. Maybe none took place, which would be a pleasant surprise, but don't hold your breath.
